I saw it yesterday. It was good, but way too long!

WOW! I saw the movie in IMAX 3D today ... BRILLIANT! There was also a great preview for Toy Story 3D which will also be presented in IMAX, super excited for that one!

I saw it in 3D, and I really enjoyed it. The characters tended toward stereotypes and the plot was predictable-- but it was fun, active, and loved the effects. Pretty wild. It was worth seeing in the theater. I do agree it ran a bit long, Sonja.

While I truly enjoyed the movie (saw it in IMAX 3-D), I thought the story was very "Pocahontas."

Visually STUNNING! The creatures and landscape were amazingly imaginative and truly beautiful (especially in IMAX).

I have to agree with MegaDisney, the storyline was very much a remake of Pocahontas! I did love the movie though, it is very 'visually stunning' as mentioned as well. I saw it in 3D as well, very good movie and worth it for sure even if the plot is 'predictable'!

The story wasn't a remake of Pocohontas. It was a retelling the historical actions of civilized society taking from an indigenous people to satisfy their self-imposed right to take whatever they need without consideration of consequences or outcomes. Granted it was a well used story, but if you look at history its been done over and over and over.

Err but its not far from it .

The Brits came over to get gold regardless of the people and the main character changes his outlook and sides .... And a female is involved
    who is the mediator ....

Like i said earlier in my post i thought it was an "ok film"
Personally if it wasnt for the special effects i dont think this film would have sold like it has

    You missed the point.

How many times has this theme been used? I think that he statement was more about taking resources without considering the consequences and of course there had to be a love story thrown in because Hollywood has to fill the sits somehow.
