    Default Christmas Dining

Okay here is my dilema. For some reason I have been in utter denial that Christmas week won't be "that bad" crowd wise in Disney. Everything I've read the last couple of days says STAY AWAY from the MK on Christmas Day. The only problem I made dining reservations at Liberty Tree Tavern that night.

If not Liberty Tree tavern for dinner do you have any other suggestions for a great Christmas dinner NOT in MK?

My first "and last" X-mas day at WDW experience was complete insanity with crowds everywhere!! I would think it would be too late to change now. Good luck though!

We are there Dec 20 - Dec 27 and opted for Wilderness Lodge for Xmas dinner. It wont be quiet but we're told that WCC has a special holiday meal for Christmas Day along with the regular menu.

We're planning to stay away from MK and are splitting the day between AK and DTD before we go to WCC for dinner.

I was in Epcot on Christmas day last year. The evening crowds in WS were not bad at all.

It's not for everyone, but we actually opted out of the traditional Christmas dinner and shared a turkey leg with a glass of wine at an outdoor table. Later we were still hungry (of course) and grabbed some fish and chips in the UK, there was lots of table seating at the waters edge so we hung out there for awhile people watching. As it started to get crowded with seat seekers for Illuminations, we gave our table to an older couple who were looking for a good spot to watch from.

I would suggest staying away from the MK on Christmas eve evening as well. We went in before the fireworks and could barely get down Main Street. We ended up watching the fireworks only and decided to get out of there.. it was the only time I'd seen them use backstage to let people out of the park. We were escorted out behind the Main Street buildings. It was crazy in an uncomfortable way.
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.

I think that a WS restaurant would be a neat way to spend Christmas dinner.

I'd also recommend Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge. The Lodge is beautiful and the decor makes it feel "Christmas-y," I think. The food is very good... and to me they are also seasonally appropriate.

The other thing to consider is if you will even be able to get into MK for your dinner. MK usually closes fairly early on Christmas day. They will let some folks in as others leave. Unless you plan on heading in to MK early and staying all day I would plan a meal elsewhere.

Maybe come up with a list of several restaurants that you would like to try and then call Disney dining to see what is available. (I am one of those who prefer calling over doing it online ).

Some ideas where you MIGHT have a better chance of getting in:
    • Kona Cafe at the Poly
    • Garden Grill at Epcot (similar meal to Liberty Tree - served family style)
    • Flying Fish at the Boardwalk
    • Kouzzina at the Boardwalk
    • Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge
    • Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge (a bit pricy)
    • Sanna at Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas

Good luck!! Enjoy WDW at Christmas - it is truly magical!!

We had a late lunch with the CP package at Biergarten for our Christmas dinner and then watched the early show...I believe we ate nachos at the Cantina before we left the park that night.....
