The difference is that Magical Journeys will watch for special discounts that come along after you book your trip and then they let you know how much you will be saving with the discounts. I don't believe that AAA does this. Whatever AAA tells you it is...is what it will be...no notifications of special discounts.

That is their "killer app" so to speak.
May your lines be short; the magic be plenty; and may you always remember to gather your belongings before exiting your vacation.

Well, we already got a great deal with the free dining and all that, so I'm not sure it really matters. But, I still watch for deals and would do so no matter who booked the vacation for me.

I'm sure MJ is great, but I think AAA works better for me.

DW and I just returned from a 23 day road trip with 9 days in the world.
Our entire Disney itinerary was handled by Denise of MJ.
She was great, getting us answers to all of our questions, many phone calls, checking our ADRs etc.
She gets our full endorsement and thanks.

We just returned from 11 days in WDW, handled by Denise @ MJ (and Kathy while Denise was on vacation @ WDW [Sorry! Didn't mean to slight you, Kathy!!]) We booked the 'bounceback' offer for next September before we left and it is already in Denise's capable hands. If we need to make changes, she will take care of them quickly and efficiently.

    Default Wendy Rocks!

I stumbled upon MJ and Wendy several years ago. We have used her several times since then.
I have recommended her to many friends and coworkers.
In the last two years I have used her along with friends and family to book a disney trip as well as a non disney cruise.
She is always right there with a phone call or an email.
I am always online so I could very easily book everything myself without too much trouble but the difference is that Wendy will find discounts that could apply to my group, she will make suggestions on what to do or NOT do on the trips we take. She will tell us what is a waste of time on different islands, what is a must see and she has teen boys that are similar ages to mine so she always has a unique insight into what would be good or fun.
She knows we are not made of money and never tries to "upsell" anything
I always feel comfortable when she handles our vacation and know that if a better deal comes along she will get in touch with us.
She knows who I am, who my family is and who my friends and their families are. She is personable, friendly and professional.
can't ask for more than that in anybody!

I went through Wendy last week to book the owner of the company that I work for his trip. His travel agent had given him a quote and I told him that I could get him a better price. I emailed Wendy and she came back with a price that was initially about $300 less. Then the buy 4 get 3 free deal was released and she applied that to the reservation automatically. So I got to look like a heroine when I told him yesterday that his trip has now gone down another $700! Thanks again Wendy!!

I think that you made the real point.
Many of us will check & recheck untill we get the right deal.
If AAA works for you - great. as long as your happy- thats what counts.

What I find more and more- is soo many positive reviews about MJ. Off hand I can not think that I have come across a negitive post about them.
The same cannot be said for many travel agencies or even AAA. Personally, my last trip I booked through AAA and it was a great experience. After i was back, I read a number of negtive posts about AAA. Basically, it seems some AAA offices are better than others. 'nuf said on that.
This trip I went with MJ. So far, so good. in addition- when free dinning came out, and than other discounts- Kathy at MJ ran the numbers for me, and the dinning plan saved the most. But that is what works for me.
There are many fine travel agencies & agents.
MJ seems to take care of the disney guests to a very high standard of success and happiness in booking their trip.
In any case, if you book it yourself or go through an agent - as long as YOU are happy in the end- its all good.

I've already posted here, but just had to post again. This is the first time we've used MJ on more than just room only (and that was during summer). When the recent deal came out, I saw just how incredible MJ (especially the awesome Melissa) is - you don't have to worry about "will I save money with this deal, or with another deal be better?" because they will lay it out for you!

They SO take the stress out of booking the trip!

I couldn't agree more! Terrisue has kept us sane even with all the changes we have done in the past. I would never use anyone else. Terrisue is always on top of EVERYTHING for us. She will have any discount applied before anyone knows about it.

The reason I decided to give MJ a chance was I used AAA once and were very disappointed. Their Disney Specialist knew less about the specials and discounts than I did. When we got home, I learned about a discount on INTERCOT that we would have been eligible for. It would have saved us hundreds. But you live and learn.

That is an extremely good point. I didn't even think about this angle!!

Maybe I'm just spoiled because of my AAA agent. The last 2 years I've dealt with Kate at the AAA office in York Pennsylvania. She has been amazing - I feel like she knows us and we know her. I'm not even sure how we started dealing with her because we have several AAA offices that are much closer to us, but it has worked out very well with talking to Kate on the phone, through email and via snail mail.

So, maybe everyone doesn't have the same experiences with AAA that I have had and I guess that would make a lot of sense.

    So - THANKS KATE!!!

And, to all of you that are happy with MJ - I'm happy for you as well. But, if you ever need anything, I'm sure Kate would help you out!!!

We used to book our trips on our own either on the phone or online and this will now be our 3rd trip with Terrisue at MJ. On our first trip we had to cancel at the last minute due to a death in the family and Terrisue was able to reschedule it for us for a month later with no penalty - this would have been quite a hassle for us to do ourselves - and all done on a Sunday when most travel agents would not have been available!

I also like the convenience. I can email her when it's convenient for me and she keeps all our info on file, etc.

We're currently planning a trip for Jan 2-10 and she's helped us make lots of changes in light of the recent discounts.

    Thumbs up from our family!

I love MJ and the personal attention that you don't get with disneyvacations and AAA. Terrisue contacts me when new deals are available and several times it has saved me money!! She sends me emails prior to my trip checking to make sure everything is set for my trip and if I need anything else and checks back on my return to see if I had a magical journey.

I am a AAA member and appreciate my discounts and use them but I use Terrisue when booking my Disney vacations!

Which reminds me....it's time to give her a call............
