I saw Captain Eo over 10 times when I visited with my family when I was 8 years old. I loved it then, and I'd enjoy seeing it again.

the movie is on youtube, I am surprised disney hasnt got it removed

I voted no. It is too dated and the reputation of the post-1980s Michael Jackson doesnt fit the Disney image.

Some things should just be left in the past. It may have been good for its time but that doesn't mean we need to re-live it.

Saw it and didn't really care for it. It's dated now and it should stay as a memory.

I voted YES, but it makes more sense to do a limited re-release only in DL. I will go see it there. I think the "datedness" of it has a huge cool factor....everything old is new again, and the 80's style is, like, majorly in, totally fer sure! Personally I love the music in it. Another Part Of Me is a great song.

Sounds like there is a vocal majority here that don't want it in WDW, so be it.

I am guessing it would do well as a limited re-release in Tokyo DL too.

Yes, absolutely. Whatever anything thinks of the man, he was brilliant when it came to musical timing, and choreography.

I would like to see it. I never saw it when it was there.

Also I find it very sad how people believe EVERYTHING they read and see about him. I can tell you that 99% of what the media ( newspaper, magazines, tv) say about him isn't true.

But enough about that, people will believe whatever they want.
    So yes bring it back!

I watched it recently on YouTube and was laughing out loud at how dated it was. Very 80's. I think Disney could make something far more spectacular with today's technology. Jackson fans can watch Captain EO online.

Honey I Shrunk The Audience is terrible. Aw-ful. I hope they replace it soon.

    1) Those of you who would like to see it can be pleased.
    2) The line will be shorter for your viewing.
    3) This, since I will not be in the line.
    4) There is no way I would watch that guy. *

    * OK, I could be bought. But, it would take a lot of cash.

I've heard it's a done deal, and it's coming to Disneyland....i have never seen it.

but i love MJ's music. he was one of the most talented entertainers out there...
Unfortunately his reputation, whether fair or unfair, true or not, is not up to Disney's standards.
The funny thing is before he passed away there is no way this would be discussed by Disney. He was, and again, fair or unfair, considered a sad story at best, and a joke at worst.
now none of the above should take away from his music. he was a genius. seems that at some point in his life though, at some point of being the king of pop, he forgot to clock out and just be a human being. I wish he was just able to make music, and not have to be someone others worshipped, while others tried to destroy.

having said all that, i would vote no.
    1. i dont' think his image is Disney.
    2. the film was made 20 years ago. unless they updated it, and added special effects, With what Pixar is doing, and all the new 3-D enhancements, i dont' think it would be of today's Disney's Standards.
    3. there would be too much backlash of those that were offended by it.
    4. it's a gimmick, would be popular for about a year, and then i would think the crowds would be gone.

MJ notwithstanding,Captain EO should come back as it was the product of George Lucas and his longtime friend Francis Coppola. It was an amazing film(Im lucky enough to have taped it when it was broadcast years ago on MTV) and lightyears better than the horrible and irritating Honey i shrunk the Audience. It was truly what Journey into imagination was about

    Sure, for a limited time.

I have never been an MJ fan, and remember solely seeing it because I was on my HS senior trip and all of my classmates wanted to. But I was pleasantly surprised, and really enjoyed it.

Iger: No plans to bring ‘Captain EO’ back to Disneyland

Disneyland has “no definite plans to bring back” the Michael Jackson 3-D movie “Captain EO,” Disney Chief Executive Bob Iger said today during an impromptu news conference at D23 Expo in Anaheim.
“There aren’t plans to bring back ‘Captain EO’ at this time,” Iger said. “We are looking at it. It’s the kind of thing that, if we did it, would get a fair amount of attention and we’d want to make sure we do it right.”
Iger and other Disney brass watched a screening of the 1980s-era sci-fi fantasy film this week and determined that the old music video needed to be further evaluated before it could be brought back into the Anaheim theme park.
Back in 1986, everybody wanted a piece of the hottest pop star in the world. So it was with much fanfare that Disneyland introduced “Captain EO,” starring Jackson.
It was an association the family-friendly amusement park would eventually come to regret as the bizarre pop star became increasingly embroiled in controversy.
The 17-minute “Captain EO” cost an estimated $30 million and featured a star-studded list of credits, including executive producer George Lucas, director Francis Ford Coppola and Anjelica Huston as the evil Supreme Leader.
The 3-D movie — featuring lasers, smoke and stars that extended into the audience — told the story of Captain EO’s mission to deliver a musical gift to a wicked alien queen on a dystopian planet. EO’s rag-tag crew included his sidekick Fuzzbucket, security officer Major Domo and blundering shipmate Hooter.
“EO” used music — specifically the original song “We Are Here to Change the World” — to defeat the queen and her whip-wielding henchmen.
“Captain EO” opened in Disneyland’s Magic Eye Theater in 1986 and ran for more than a decade, quietly closing in 1997.
Identical versions of the film eventually opened at Epcot in Florida, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris. All closed by 1998.

Absolutely NOT. To put it mildly, a person of Michael Jackson's questionable character has no place in WDW. None.

Also of all the possible past attractions to bring back, EO wouldn't even make the list of things I would rather see.
