Champions League groups were settled today. EPL's big four got a pretty kind draw. LFC is in a group with Lyon, Fiorentina and Debreceni. I'll take that. Hope we can start picking up the quality or we won't make it out of this group stage.

Who do you all think is the toughest group? Mine would be either Group C (AC Milan, Real Madrid, Marseille, FC Zurich) or Group D (Chelsea, FC Porto , Atl. Madrid, APOEL).

My vote is Group F. You can't ignore Internazionale AND Barcelona in the same group.

Wow...my Toffees are finally hitting top gear with the 2-1 win over Wigan. Granted, the 6 Wigan penalties helped a lot (With a PK by Leighton Baines as the winner in extra time), but this was not only a victory in the tables but an emotional victory as well as I believe today we wiped away any memory of the 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Aresenal.

Also Everton should be on the way on the up now all they needed was confidence ...

Spurs v Man Utd should be an interesting game in a fortnight

I agree with you on that one but on theory all the favourites should go through easily ..But the Barca & Milans games should be the pick of the bunch .

I'm voting Group B as the toughest. The #4 seed in that group (Wolfsburg) won the Bundesliga last season. While Man U. should advance, they got a tough draw with the amount of travel. They will have to visit Russia and Turkey and these long trips could have an effect on their Premier league play as well.

Chelsea looked to be in top form crushing Burnley on Saturday. Hooray ESPN2 showing Premier League matches on Saturday mornings.

Champions League is also getting too predictable. The quarter finals will consist of the 4 English teams. Real Madrid, Barcelona and any two of Inter Milan, AC Milan and Bayern Munich. Hopefully we'll get a surprise or two but the eventual winner will be one of these teams.

I did see it. There's no way you can say that Ade didn't mean it. If you check out the angle of his foot before and after the stamp, you can see that he meant it. Ruling just came down charging Ade with violent and improper conduct in regards to his Van Persie stamp and his celebration. Punishment yet to be determined. Classless display by Ade.

I am sorry that Spurs lost to Man U. Was hoping that they'd pull off the win. Still early on in the season, though. Anything is possible.

Man U vs Man City this weekend. This will probably be the only Man U match I would ever watch besides last year's CL final. But I watched that one for Barca.

How about Rio Ferdinand saying he has no qualms about kicking Ronaldo if they meet up in the CL? Way to announce that one, Rio.

Yep 2 big games tomorrow with Spurs v Chelsea .
Liverpool just scraped a win Davy 3-2

As for Ferdinand comments ,well Ronaldos on the opposing team now .BUT Ronaldo will have to be more weary of Rooney trying to get revenge for getting him sent off when they were both Man Utd teamates when they were in the EURO CUP finals in the England v Portugal game

Whew! We did just scrape by on that one! I have a feeling that this season is going to be one where we do this more often then not. Believe me, I love LFC wins, but LFC blowouts always settle my nerves more.

Good, gritty win for us today.

Nice win for us today Everybody's just starting to click now, especially Saha and his two goals today. It'll be nice to literally see them play next week because they're on ESPN's Match of the Week against Portsmouth.

Of all the games to sleep through, I slept through the one where my Toffees were on over here but a 6:45 AM kickoff can be a little much for a Saturday, so while I don't have a firsthand account of the match this week, I'm a happy man when you gain points and chip away at the goal differential, and the 1-0 win over Portsmouth did just that. The big surprise for me today was Spurs winning 5-0 over Burnley, or Chelsea losing their first of the season to Wigan of all squads.

Portsmouth were by far the better team against Everton today. But when your lucks not in..... A couple of goal line clearances and hitting the woodwork twice, you had to feel sorry for them. They were all over Everton in the second half.

Great to see my Spurs win 5-0 today and get back to winning ways

A 1-1 draw today for my Toffees against Stoke in what I found to be a match fairly winnable for Everton especially with their 5 shots off target, if not for that, we'd be taking 3 points instead of 1. Nontheless, I'll still take the point, and be happy with it while preparing for Wolverhampton next week.

Some strange results ...Liverpool looked outclassed and Man Utd were so lucky . Spurs slipped up against Bolton which is a shame a win would have given us a gap over arsenal and liverpool .

Everton look to be clear from danger now

Unfortunately, I did see it. How unlucky!!! Rafa said it's just bad luck; former Premier League officials are criticizing the ref for allowing the goal. Rafa might have a different opinion if it was thrown by a Sunderland fan. Sigh. So goes our season.

I guarantee you that he's in hiding now. Either that or the LFC supporters have got to him already and we'll never see him ever again. Although the Blue side of the Mersey must be enjoying it.
