    Question Which Water Park?

My DN will be visiting WDW in June for her 11th Birthday She wants to visit one of the water parks while she is there and wants to get opinions on whether she should go to BB or TL. We would like any input as she has never been to one of the water parks before. She is leaning more towards BB but her parents want TL. So let us know what you think.

I prefer TL but my DS (who was 10 on our last visit) enjoyed BB the most

Depending on how adventurous she is, I would pick BB. It has great water slides. TL is a little more laid back but is still fun.

We've been to both, and prefer TL. BB has some great slides, but we didn't find it as comfortable to move around in or that it had as many good places to lay down your beach towel. TL has lots of big, fun slides as well and just an overall more relaxing atmosphere, with a lot more shade.

while both are a lot of fun...we prefer TL...for while both have great slides...we felt like TL had a wider array of water activites (including swimming with sealife) and a better wave pool.

Both of my kids prefer BB. They like the slides better as well as the theme and especially the Ski Patrol Training Camp area. That being said, they think it would be even better if they had Crush n' Gusher at BB instead of TL and the stronger surf waves. I, however, am glad the stronger surf waves are only at TL because DS is not a strong enough swimmer and the surf waves make me nervous.

i always like the lazy rivers.. now i can't speak for tl since i haven't been there in a while, but bb had a lot of "stuff" in their river from the trees nearby. can't be helped but it downed the experience a bit.
once there was a princess who never let her imagination stop her from dreaming up scenes and stories as she walked around the park.
so if you ever see someone talking to herself, that would be me.

    Default Re: Which Water Park?

I don't think one water park is inherently better than the other. Typhoon Lagoon (TL) has some things, that Blizzard Beach (BB) doesn't. And Blizzard Beach (BB) has some things, that Typhoon Lagoon (TL) doesn't.

    TL has more wave pools.
    BB has more slides.

    TL has the surf pool.
BB has 2 children's play areas, 1 more than TL.

    TL has the surfing lessons.
BB has Teamboad Springs. Supposedly, the longest white-water raft ride in the world.

BB has Cross Country Creek, the longer of the 2 lazy rivers.
TL has "Crush 'n' Gusher." A "water coaster."

BB has Summit Plummet. Which is higher, faster, and longer than the one at TL.
TL has Shark Reef, a snorkeling area.

And the essentials are apparently the same at both BB and TL.

Thus, which one is the better? I think it boils down to personal preference.

TL all the way! Snorkeling with sharks - giant waves - tons of slide variety - and a fantastic lazy river...gotta love it!!!

They are both great and each offers something the other does not. So get the waterparks and more option for your passes and go to both of them. Trust me, you won't regret it. My kids (and me, too) have just as much fun at the Disney waterparks as we do in the theme parks. We really love the Teamboat Springs family raft ride at BB and the Crush 'n Gusher "coaster" slide at TL. You can't go wrong at either watrepark.

Both parks ROCK! But that doesn't help you any, does it? TL has the better wave pool and Shark Reef-snorkeling w/the sharks was Way cool ...and I mean that literally. The water was pretty cold, but the experience was great! Now BB...two words...SUMMIT PLUMMIT...nuf said!!

Hmm...you've stumbled onto one of the most disputed questions on Disney property...even among us lifeguards....which is better? Personally, I'm a Goonie (TL). TL really is a bit more "action, slides, and waves"...BB is a lil more mild. I've been to both and still favor TL. Depending on her swimming ability would be which would be a better fit for her. If she's a fairly strong swimmer and is comfortable in the water, I'd suggest TL. If not, maybe BB. Either way, both are a blast!!

I have been to BB one time, and I felt like I was waiting in line for more of the day than I was actually in water. TL however, I love because if I want to just swim, the wave pool is there, but the adventure is also there, I love their slides, and the overall relaxed, but fun atmosphere.

I love TL I enjoy getting there early, doing crush 'n gusher before the lines get too long, am able to do like each ride (of the 3) two or three times, before the line starts to get long, then do some slides. and hang in the lazy river, and lay on the beach listening to Jimmy Buffett, and when that gets tiring go have some

Chances are she would prefer BB because of her age. TL is quite laid back with not a lot of rides but BB is full of waterslides and is geared more towards kids. You can relax more in TL but BB is more fun with lots of stuff to do.
