Mar. 5, 1999 – “Michelle Kwan Skates to Disney’s Greatest Hits” aired on ABC.
Mar. 5, 2000 – The 2nd Annual Garden Design Event at the Disney Institute in WDW (offering hands-on experience in all aspects of designing, planting and maintaining a garden) came to an end after 4 days.
Mar. 5, 2000 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired the 2-hour TV movie “Life-Size.”
Mar. 5, 2003 – Disneyland’s King Arthur Carrousel reopened after a 14 month long rehab.
Mar. 5, 2004 – The Disney Channel aired the That’s So Raven episode “To See or Not to See” for the first time.
Mar. 5, 2004 – The Disney film “Hidalgo” starring Viggo Mortensen, opened in theaters.
Mar. 5, 2005 – The Newport Symphony Orchestra performed selections from Disney’s 1940 Fantasia during a concert held at the Newport Performing Arts Center in Ca.
Mar. 5, 2005 – Vance Gerry, a veteran Disney animation storyman, layout artist, and visual development artist since 1955, passed away in Pasadena, Ca. Regarded as one of the most talented and creative story artists in the animation industry, he contributed to such Disney classics as 101 Dalmatians, The Jungle Book, The Aristocats, Robin Hood, The Rescuers, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
Mar. 5, 2006 – At the 78th Annual Academy Awards, Howard Berger & Tami Lane won for Achievement in Makeup for the feature “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.”
Mar. 5, 2007 – Variety reported that a new Disney Channel series called “Wizards of Waverly Place” was slated for a fall launch. The show centers around a family whose 3 kids are wizards-in-training.
