    Default $200 Gift Card

I booked the 4/3 and am getting the $200 gift card. Do you all know if I can add the dining plan on when we check in and use that card to help pay for it?
    Thanks!

Never mind, lol...I found it right on the WDW webpage. Disney is such a tease though, trying to get me to go with discounts!

I am sure someone will come along and correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the dining plan is just about the only thing that you CANNOT add on once you arrive. You can add things like Park Hoppers and Water Parks and more, but I don't believe that you can add the dining plan on.

I belive that is correct. I think you have to purchase the dining plan at least 10 days prior to your arrival...but that gift card will come in handy for the appetizers and tips!!!

I called Disney and they said that you could use it to add on the park hopper or water parks and more options. That is what we are using ours for.

Two things to keep in mind.

    Number one ...
As we've read above, the Disney Dining Plan has to be booked at least a few days in advance. Under NO circumstances can it be added at check-in.

    Number two ...
The DDP is available only as part of a package. Packages must be paid in-full no later than 45 days before arrival. If you add to a package within that 45-day window, then you must pay for that upgrade immediately. Therefore, due to all of that, you can't pay for the DDP with the $200 gift card; there is no way to use "money" received at check-in to pay for that package.

    As for ticket upgrades ...
Even if you buy tickets as part of a package, at any time after check-in you are free to do whatever you want with those tickets. Therefore, it's perfectly okie-dokie to use that $200 towards the $50 + tax fee for adding park hopping, or the $50 + tax fee for adding Water Park Fun & More, or both!

I'm using my gift card for stuff! I can buy lots of stuff. ^_^ Food, I'm not so concerned about. I can go pretty cheap for food. But I don't get to buy much in way of gifts and what not.

Good to know that a dining plan can't be added at site. I don't want the dining plan, but it's still good to know. ^_^
Where are we going, and why are we in this handbasket?

Does the gift card have to be used on the stay that you receive it or can it be used on another trip?

You can use it however and whenever you want. It's just a standard Disney gift card. It doesn't expire.
