New BCS Rankings - small rant

Let me start by admitting that I'm a die hard Michigan fan. This is the worst season they've had since I was 4, and I'm not handling it well.

Anyway, I just heard the new BCS rankings (after the Texas loss):
#1 = Alabama (stomped on Arkansas State)
#2 - Texas Tech (squeaked by Texas)
#3 - Penn State (on a bye this week).

I told DH last night that this was probably going to be bad news for Penn State, because they didn't play at all this week, plus they play a weaker schedule.



I understand that Texas Tech beat the #1 team, and I'm not denying them a higher ranking this week because of it. I'm just not sure they should have leap frogged Penn State.

That is about what I figured after the TT/T game last night. The Big 10 +1 is way down this year. There will be some more shake ups before this season is over. Penn State will need to run the table, and need help to get in the top 2. The strength of schedule is just not there. I think the Big 10 +1 history of losing in the big games will haunt the conference champ every year. You think you have it bad being a wolverine! I bleed badger cardinal and white!

Gator Nation is taking over! If we win out, we will be in the title game. It doesn't matter what anybody else does when you play a tough schedule like the Gators do in the SEC!

The ranking system is the main reason I don't follow college football. I really wish they would just come up with a playoff system instead of the bowl games and rankings.

I agree with the others and wish there was some sort of playoff system, but as a Texas Tech alumni....

Due to PSU's schedule, they are pretty much a shoe in for the championship game anyway..and will probably move up....unless they forget to show up for a football game!
TT will have to play OSU and OU in the next couple of weeks and will move accordingly.
My beloved ALABAMA has to face some pretty tough teams themselves. I know FL is chomping at the bit to take a shot at them!
