    Default What will 2009 be?

The Year of a Million Dreams was the theme for 2008 and before that....however, what is the theme going to be for 2009? Does anyone know?

When making our ressies for 2/09 I asked the CM if they were going to continue the 'Dreams' theme during our visit and she replied " don't be surprsied".

Guess there are no plans to change it or at least they haven't released the info yet.

I remember when WDW didn't have themes...it was just WDW and you went because it was WDW...no gimmicks. It made special themes like 15 year anniversary so special because they were unique and only happened every few years

Yes... <sigh> those were the days... and I can see where your coming from. Constant gimmicks seems to cheapen the nostalgia factor just a bit...

I agree, but I sure wouldn't argue if they awarded us with the Dream Suite.

I'd like to see something that puts the emphasis on classic (even black and white) Disney animation....but still with the chance to win a stay in the castle.

I'm not a huge fan of the "year of a Million Dreams" theme - and in fact I really hope they get rid of it for 2009 because it's already been over done in my opinon.

I would love to see them do a "Back to the Beginning" theme one year. Highlighting the classic rides, bring back some of the original ideas on Main St. - etc. But that is wishful thinking.

The theme's put a special feeling in the air. However, I feel if they go beyond December 2008 with the YMD theme they are beating a dead horse. They can still offer chances to win a free night stay in the castle etc with different themes or no theme at all. Lets say you are the 100th person to check in for a given day, bam you win something.

Imagineers are creative, they will think of something.

But please keep themes special. 40 years is right around the corner.
