    Default Fantasmic Viewing

With the opening of the Dream Suite, is there a great place to watch fantasmic. The Balcony was the best if you didn't mind paying for it, but since it is gone, I was wondering where are the best places to view the show. I would like to know both free spots and spots you have to pay for.

I have never paid for any seating to watch Fantasmic, but I always think the best viewing spot is right in the center where you sit on the ground. Of course you need to get there a little early to claim a spot. I always suggest this to those seeing Fantasmic at Disneyland for the first time. You can also stand along the low fence/wall just behind the seating area for both free and paying seats, but that area also gets claimed pretty fast.

You can stand or sit on the ground anywhere directly in front of Tom Sawyers island (in front of the entrance to Pirates) and it's a great seat, you just have to get there early and stake your claim on space. Alternately, you can pay for Priority Seating which includes a dessert box, and the location is just left of center right up front with perfect views and chairs. Here's some info I got from a past post by a mod named tinkewest. I found it using the search function, which can help you find TONS of info on all kinds of topics:

1-714-781-3463 will get you connected with someone that can reserve Fantasmic! seating for you. The cost is $59 for 10 yrs old and over, $49 for 3-9. I believe you may reserve up to 60 days in advance.

Even when the balcony was opened, they offered this second preferred viewing area. I guess they found the balcony was so popular they could make even more money by having a second area.

I'll share my secret viewing location. If you enter the viewing area from the extreme left side (near the entrance to Haunted Mansion), and start moving to the center, you can usually get right up front on the 2nd level within 15-20 minutes of showtime. Even on the busiest of nights we've stood next to the railing with unobscured views of the entire show. The only negative is that it is left of the stage, but that's a small comprimise to make for not having to wait 2 hours.
