Question Your opinions/comments about AS Movies, Coronado and CarribeanPlease

Need your opinion on Movies Resort.
My family typically stays offsite (we rent a house) and I just recieved a pin# (20% off certain resorts & times) and we are looking at going in December and staying at All Star Movies. We are hoping for a nice, inexpensive trip near the holidays to de-stress and have fun.

Anyways, may I please get your opinion on Movies in a preferred room? We will have a 11 yr old & 4 year old in our room.

    Thanks a bunch!
    Your would be great!

Okay, so the travel agent just came back and said for $200 more for the entire stay we can chose Coronado Springs or Carribean Beach. Which would you chose and why? Thank you!

We stayed in the Toy Story building and it was fun for ours...The room was nice and the huge Buzz and Woody were great...Every time we would walk to the food court or the bus they would have to sit on RC after going out of Andys big bedroom door...
The Fantasia pool was great...With so many that stay there, it never was that packed...Have a great time in Dec...We will be there too...

We have stayed in preferred location rooms at the AS-Sp and Pop...and are scheduled for a couple of nights in a preferrred room at the AS-Movie in late June....we prefer the preferred because of the convenience they offer. About the only amenities we use at the values are the pool in the late afternoon and the food court, and being relaitvely close to both is nice.
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow

The rooms are very small. I stayed in the Toy Story building last December alone and found the room small. That said, if you won't spend much time there and don't mind close quarters it is definitely cheap.

I've stayed at AS-Movies several times, both with fam and solo. Of the AS resorts, this one is my fave and it's great staying in the Toy Story section. I agree with what elmjimmlm said with going out of your room and there you see giant Woody and Buzz and my DNiece that's 6 loves it too. Including getting a chance to sit in RC. I've not personally gone into the Fantasia pool, but it looks like a wonderful pool to play in for the little ones. And being such a movie fan that I am, I love the movie pics/posters and memoribilia they have in the main building and the rooms too. Even the "Popcorn" light in your room is cool.
28 times to WDW and still going since 1984!! Most recent visit: November/December 2011...Far too long since my last visit! :'(

We stayed there at our first ON-site trip. We stayed in the Fantasia room that wasn't preferred. We were on the ground floor. It reminded me of a really fun Holiday Inn. The pool is fantastic. I also liked the food court.

Back then, we only had 4 days so we just used the room for sleeping!

We stayed in the MIghty Ducks building (standard location) on the ground floor. The rooms are small (4 of us) but I didn't mind because the only time we were there was to sleep. I enjoyed the theming of the rooms and the entire hotel. Also, we were pleased with the food court. We would stay there again.

Thank you so much for your comments, I edited my post as the travel agent came back with upgrading to a mod for only $200 more for our entire trip. Either Coronado Springs or Carribean Beach. What would you choose and why? Have you been before?

Thank you! I so apprecited your time and opinions.

Now unfortunately I haven't stayed at Coronado Springs before but Caribbean Beach I have stayed at several times. At the moment, they're in the middle of doing a major refurb to their main pool at CB so you may want to consider this for the time you're going. I don't know what time they're planning to have the pool finished so you might want to check around the threads here to see if anyone knows a tentative time for reopening and if it would effect you during the time you are going to be there. However, beside the pool issue, I do like CB the best so far when it comes to the Mod resorts I've stayed at so far. I'm not really sure I can explain it but to me it just has that relaxed feeling to it, almost as if you're a million miles away from home and yet you have Epcot practically in your back yard(look at a property map and you'll see what I mean).
