I'm back from my hospital stay
Hello Everyone!
Firstly, thank you to each & every one of you for the pixie dust & prayers. It meant a lot for me to know that everyone here was thinking of me.
Thank you to Jamie and Lori for updating y'all on how things were going. I had my last test done today. According to this test, I've got two narrowing spots in my small intestines that is causing me to hurt anytime that I eat/drink. Unfortunately, there isn't anything the Dr.'s can do about it b/c I've had tons of surgeries in the past. Being that said, it makes things more difficult. They just advised me to eat a softer diet, and continue my medicines.
I had teams of Dr.'s coming in each day to see me and to learn from my case. That was kinda fun and interesting to be the guinea pig so to speak. (Cute Residents too!!) I am set up with a special GI Dr. and a GI surgeon. I've been told by many RN's at the hospital and Residents that these 2 Dr.'s are the best in the South. That makes me feel really good. The Dr.'s and residents are really good and very patient with explaining medical terms to the patients. The Rn's on the other hand, I had more trouble with them. No offense to any RN's on the board. I love Rn's, but there was one RN who had - I'll say major issues with her language - meaning her English wasn't so great. It took her 3 hours to get me some medicine for my migraine. She told me she didn't understand me. To make a long story short I requested to not get her again. I did let the charge Nurse know and come to find out they had many complaints about this RN before. Besides all that UNC Chapel Hill is a great hospital! It's HUGE! The one pet peeve I had about the ER was I waited, no joke 4 hours to be taken back to a bed!!! UGH! I've never waited that long to be seen in the ER before! It was crazy!
I can't get this nausea under control, even with the medicine they've given me for it. I've still got some pains, and was sent home with medicine for that. I will say that I feel better since I got tons of fluids in my system. I am so bruised, from needle sticks for IV sites, I look like I've been beat up.
Again, I just want to thank each and every one of you for thinking of me. Crohn's isn't an easy thing to deal with. I have to admit: Emotionally I am so down in the dumps. I know in time I will be back to my old self.
I know this is kinda short, but I just got home and HAD to get on Intercot to tell everyone the news myself. I missed Intercot and every one here so much I was having withdrawl symptoms!! It's good to be back home! And it's the truth: There is NO place like home!
Much hugs and love to everyone!!

Glad you're back home, Monica! Sounds like UNC-CH was a better fit for you, health-wise (sorry about the RN that delayed getting your pain med to you, though--no excuse for that!)
So, and positive thoughts on its way to you that you are on the mend again and can get on with life.

Monica, I am so glad that you are back home. That always makes a person feel better. I am so sorry to hear that there wasn't an immediate solution for you but it does sound like you are in very good hands. I sure hope they have you feeling better real soon so you can just concentrate on the very important business of being Monica.

Glad to hear you're home and doing a little better. At least you don't have to worry about the I'cot withdrawal. Now just take it easy.
