Cool Does anyone have a Nikon D40 or D60?

I am buying one of them tomorrow. I have been planning on getting the D40 for quite some time but, now I am reading info on the D60 and wondering if I should go the extra and get that?
This will be my first DSLR. I have wanted one since last year.
I have a Kodak Easyshare now, the Z12. I do not like it at all. I had another Easyshare that stopped working and I loved that one but, I am not a fan of this one.
I use my camera for just everyday use. Pics of the klds at games and school, WDW trips of course and that kind of thing.
I have considered other cameras but, I know I want the Nikon. Just not sure which one.

Does anyone have any experience with either the D40 or D60.
    Thanks!!

I have a D40 and have been very pleased with the picture quality, speed, focus, etc.

I dropped it and internal flash no longer works, so I bought the low end external flash and it works great.

I don't have any experience with the D60.

I have the Nikon D40 as well. I've been very pleased with the picture quality--got some amazing shots on our last Disney trip. It has settings for sports, portraits, etc etc etc. It's a wonderful camera. Good luck with your decision.

I saw the D60 on a commercial with Ashton Kutcher the other day and thought it looked like a great camera to have. I have a Sony Cyber-shot that I like, but might get the D60. And the D40 sounds like a good one too, I'll check that out as well. I'm glad you started this post, I was wondering about it. I need something like this for my boutique clothing to photograph really well. My Sony does good, but the Nikon seems to take much better and easier.

    Thanks guys!

We ended up going with the D40. As I read more online about the two last night, I decided to go with the 40 and buy a really good zoom lens at a later date.
Of course the deal breaker for my husband was that with his PBA discount at our local electronics store we were able to get the D40 for $449.

I can't wait to use it at my son's Little League game tonight! I am sure I am going to need some help figuring some settings out so, I hope you guys that own one won't mind if I call on you.

    Congratulations on buying it!

I have the D70 and have been VERY happy with it, the quality is great and the ease of use it great, I just wish I knew how to do more with it as it is capable of so much. My only real complaint is the size of it, especially at Disney - and it looks like the 40 is smaller so hopefully you won't have that problem.

    Anyway, enjoy it!
