Can anyone list the pros and cons of these resorts and which one you think would be preferable?

I have only stayed at POFQ, so cannot fairly compare the two. However, some things we loved about POFQ are:

    1. The size - its the smallest of the moderate resorts and everything is within close proximity

    2. Friendship boat to DTD

    3. Food court had excellent selections

    4. Nicely themed pool area and hot tub

    5. BEIGNETS!!!

CSR is a great resort that differs from POFQ. CSR is a large resort but it does not share transportation like POFQ/POR, it has the best pool of the mods and has terrific food options. CSR also has some deluxe amenities like a fitness center (free for its guests), tanning beds, a spa and salon.

I have to agree here. POFQ became a favorite of ours before we purchased DVC. The grounds are smaller and very nicely themed. Kids love the pool, but CS aslo has a great pool. CS was just a little to spead out for me. I just really like all of the vegetation at POFQ, especially during hot summer days.

Definately CSR. Quality and selection of food at the Pepper Market is superior to other food courts.

I chose CSR. I really like Pepper Market and that it's a pretty resort. I like the main pool area and the fact that it has a real lap pool I also liked that it has a spa like the deluxe resorts.

I guess I don't like the Mardi Gras theme. I was also disappointed in the food court. It didn't seem to have anything I liked to eat. I did like the small size of the resort.

I voted for POFQ because we have small children and the small size of the resort is awesome when you are exhausted and yet so close th everything. CSR was amazing and felt more like a deluxe than a moderate and the amenities are exceptional. The food court habds down CSR. The pools are great at both so that is a draw. The busing situation is most peoples issue with POFQ because it shares with Riverside. We have never had a problem with this at FQ because there is only one FQ stop and four stops at Riverside. Remember CSR is much larger and more spread out than PO so you will still make 5 stops around the loop at CSR. Also CSR is the furthest away from all the parks except AK so will spend more time in the bus than at PO. All in all I would chose based on your desire for amenities and how much resort time you plan on using. If you plan on spending the majority of the time in the parks go with POFQ. If you want the relax a little more and enjoy the resort go with CSR. Both are amazing in there own way.

I voted for POFQ just because it's smaller. Our last two trips have been at CS, Feb and Dec. Both resorts are very nice and I think you would like either one. I liked the food court at CS also but it's very expensive, that was the only bad thing about it

We have not actually stayed at POFQ, but when we stayed at POR we did some exploring and snooping at French Quarter! From that I believe I do like it over CS. We will make a trip to French Quarter in the next few years hopefully! Then I will know for sure!
