Default What is the rarest character encounter you've had?

    Hi

I'm a new member but I've been a lurker for quite a while and decided to get in on the fun.

Anyhow, I was wondering, what's the rarest character encounter you've ever had?

I didn't even realize that I had a rare encounter until after I started reading the posts here. I met Hercules at MGM in 2005, and it wasn't until I got here that I found out how hard it is to meet him which made me pretty excited.

Can't wait to read about your rare finds!

Mine isn't rare as in the "who" but the "how" and "where". I have recounted this before but i love telling it anyway...
It was right before the afternoon parade and there were several mainstream characters meeting at the entrance to and inside Expo Hall (Goofy, Chip and Dale, Pluto, Mickey and Minnie). I brought my then 3 y.o. daughter in to meet them all just before they were heading in. Minnie was at the end of the hallway and no one knew she was there because you had to go back there to see her. Anyway, we went back and Minnie was playing with Sophia because there was no one around. Minnie even got down on the floor and took some posing shots with her. All of a sudden, Mickey comes back to head in with a CM. He waved to Sophia and I asked if Mickey would get in the picture. The CM said he couldn't (which I completely understood). But Mickey IS the Boss. He obliged. He also GOT ON THE FLOOR and did several poses with Minnie and Sophia. There was still no one around. I took a ton of picures, realizing the oddity of it all. It was like a personal photo shoot with the both of them . I always assumed this was a rare occurence given the way it happened. Even if it wasn't, it was very special to us.
    Sorry for the long diatribe....

I think the rarest we have met was Scrooge McDuck during MVMCP. We even got him to sign a "Mickey's Christmas Carol" book.

The rarest signature we have is from King Louie. He had Baloo who was with him sign his name for him (since he has really bad arthritis). When we were leaving the photopass photographer said he had never seen that before. Another cool autograph we got was from Baloo. He signed it "Your Papa Bear Baloo" for my son Hayden. His CM said that he doesn't do that very often.

Hercules and Meg pulled us aside in MGM/DS several years ago for a photo near Sid C's which is now a keepsake!

I used to get yearly pictures with Dopey, but I don't see him much anymore.

When Beauty and The Beast opened in theatres, I got my picture with Chip and Mrs. Potts in the CS restaurant that used to be where Playhouse Disney is now in MGM.

I have a pic of me with The Beast.
"Sometimes you eat the bear, and sometimes the bear eats you. But always dress for the hunt!" Kungaloosh!

"Happy are those whom the Muses love."

Characters that don't come out that often, or characters that no longer come out.

The rarest characters I had met would have to be Quasimodo and Esmerelda in France at Epcot in January of '98. Also, I remember this one character moment from my 1st trip in '96 to WDW:

MGM(now Hollywood). Me and my folks were on the line for the Animation Tour when we noticed Roger Rabbit doing his character duty with a crowd of guests. When he was leaving to take a break, he slowly inched away while waving goodbye while everyone went "aww" all down-like and stuff. It was so sweet, looks like everyone really wanted him out that day.

For me the rarest for me at Disneyland is Dopey and Anastasie and Drizzle. When I first saw the Step Sisters I just ran like crazy to meet them. They were so much fun. I had told Drizzle that my dream came true of meeting them. Drizzle then ask me oh you me your my Prince. That's when Anastasie came over and said he to old for you. They were fighting back and forth with me. Then Drizzle said ok we will let him deside who he likes better. So I when like Iny Miny Mighty Mo and when I stop I had pick Anastasie. Drizzle got so mad at me. Here is what my favorite picture of them was like.

Here is the picture of them fighting over me.

I hope that they come back this year for Halloween at DCA.
    DLand character wanted list.

    1. DUMBO 2. BLUE FAIRY 3. TARZAN 4. BRER RABBIT 8. JOHN SMITH 9. LAUNCH PAD 11. LOTSO 14. GYPSY

We also got to meet Mack from the Pirate Tutorial. He posed for a picture with her and my son and signed an autograph. Then others started noticing us and started coming over so he had to make a hasty retreat to the Pearl.

I guess if I had to pick one of my most rare pics it would be the 3 Fairies (Flora, Fauna and Meriweather) from Sleeping Beauty! That was a great day!

We're lucky to have run into some rare characters (at least Stateside) in our trips to Tokyo Disney. The 7 Dwarves are out all the time, and this last trip we also met Bernard and Bianca. Also, Prince Eric and the Chef from Little Mermaid.

Where in MK were all 7 dwarves seen? I've got a WDW poster with all of them on there and so far I only have Dopey's autograph.
