    Default Chef Mickey's dinner

Why does it seem that Chef Mickey's for dinner is such a hard reservation to get? I have been trying unsuccessfully for 3 years to get a dinner ADR there and finally have one for this trip, and all they had left were 8 or after 9 pm! Is it that popular there? We've had several breakfasts there and it's never been that packed so why is it so hard to get dinner ADR's???
Too many trips to keep track of now! Vacation WDW twice a year so any questions ask freely ☺️

Honestly, in the 8 years we've been going to Chef Mickey's (May/June/July), I don't think I've ever seen the place under capacity without a wait for ADRs (and before that, PS) for either breakfast or dinner. I also think that many a family has a tradition of eating dinner at Chef Mickey's then heading over to MK for the evening. Couple that with a decently priced all-you-can-eat meal, and you've got a sellout. Albeit late, I'm glad you scored a ressie this time around!

We are going in September, and barely got in for dinner. We went last year, and we had a blast. My daughter was celebrating her 4th birthday and she had a great time. The food is really good, and they have anything and everything you could imagine. The dessert bar is a blast too. It is just a really fun atmosphere. ENJOY!

Keep checking back. On our first trip, I couldn't get anything before 9:00, which was too late. But I kept trying, and eventually got one for prime dinner time! I made sure to book it really early this last trip. We have enjoyed this both times, and will likely do it again.
    Good Luck!

I booked on my 180 days out for dinner on our first day so we could enjoy a bit of MK and then show the kids the characters before heading back to POR. The cm said she couldn't believe we got a reservation for 5pm for 7 of us I'm so excited, i've never been there.

That's strange b/c I've never had a problem getting a ressie there and they are always between 5 and 6pm. for a party of between 9 and 4. We've traveled 4th of July week, early Sept, and this year late August and it hasn't ever been a problem. I don't even book at the 180 day mark. Guess I should consider myself very lucky!!

We haven't had any problems getting a ressie either in the past few years. First we got breakfast for 9am at about 30 days out, and then dinner for 4, I'm thinking it was around 6/7. This year, I called and got dinner at 6:45 for 8, no problem. I wish I knew something that could help you.

Good luck! Keep trying, you never know when someone will have to cancel or change their time. We've had to do this before as well.

I had no problem getting a ressie there for dinner last year, and we ended up being extremely disappointed in the food. Not many selections, IMO compared to other WDW buffets and the taste was only so-so. Now breakfast...that's another matter. It's one of our favorites!

I called for our September trip at 179 days out and got right in for dinner at 6.

I can't wait. We've done breakfast before but never dinner.
