Thank you so much for your tips! We are doing the 7 night Western Carribbean on 10/31/09. Having never cruised, your tips will come in so helpful. I copied them to a word doc and will keep them in my cruise file.
Question for you: do the kiddos have a kids menu that they have to eat off, or can they have any meal that they want at the sit down dinners?
Also, do you know do they rent Tuxes on the ship?
One more-how did you find out about the non-Disney excursion?
Thanks again!!
Yes, there is a kids menu with things like pasta, chicken fingers, etc. Kids can order off of either the adult menu or the kids menu. Adults can also order off of the kids menu. Our 6 year old DD ordered off of the adult menu every night. Our 11 year old DS has a peanut/nut allergy and they were sooooo wonderful about it! They offered to get him anything he wanted and our server suggested the pizza from Palo to DS. Well, DS LOVED that pizza so each night our server or the head server went up to Palo to get DS his special pizza! Each night our servers told us what was safe for DS and what was not. Some of the nights the before dinner breads were not safe so they would bring DS his own special bread basket. Amazing!
I do not know if they rent tuxes, DH brought his own.
I found out about captain marvins by researching online and I also bought the Passporters Cruise Guide. I think they are mentioned in there. If you want the contact info just PM me.

Hi Karen,
I saw your question regarding rentals of tuxedo's on the DCL, and YES, they do rent tuxes. DCL uses Cruiseline Formalwear, Inc.
(link deleted per Intercot's ToS)
for their tuxedo rentals. I used them for my NYE cruise and was very happy with the service, the price, and the convenience of not having to pick-up/pack/unpack/pack/drop-off a rental tux from elsewhere. The cabin steward had it in my room either the first night or the next day (I don't recall, but it was in time for me to try it on at least a day or so before I needed it).
I've sent this as a private message as well because of Intercot's ToS preventing the posting of links. For anyone else, use your favorite search engine and search for 'cruiseline formalwear'.
Hope that helps,
Rob
