Bus transportation

Hi all, two questions. We're going to be doing the trail ride in June, and afterwards going to Studios. We are staying at Pop, and getting to Fort Wilderness via the boat launch from Magic Kingdom. Approx how long of a trip is it from the boat launch to the Livery where we do the trail ride (assuming taking the internal bus, or is it a doable walk)? After the trail ride, do we catch the bus to Studios at the front of Fort Wilderness (by the check-in)?

From the boat launch, take a bus. It is too far to walk. You can take any internal bus marked " OUTPOST". Regardless of color, this will take you to where you need to be. The stables are a short distance from the Outpost bus stop. The bus from FW to MGM stops by the boat launch, so you will have to take a " SETTLEMENT" bus to get back there. It is not a long ride either way, but as you are going through the MK and taking the boats, I would build in plenty of travel time for this excersion. Have a great time

If you plan on going to Fort Wilderness from Epcot rather then MK you can take the bus which lets you off at the Outpost. It will be quicker than taking a boat and then an internal bus.

It sounds good to get to Fort Wilderness by bus rather than from MK from what you guys are saying. Since we're staying at Pop, and we're the closest to Studios, do you think the bus from there would drop us off at the Outpost? That would save time also if we could.

The MGM bus comes in from the WL, and only stops at the Settlement. It does not pass by the Outpost area, so they could not drop you off. They do not break from their routes. Take a bus from the Pop to either Epcot or DTD to get to the Outpost at FW.

I just read that as of Jan 6 the MGM bus is going to the Outpost rather then the Settlement. Check when you get there and find out if this is right.If it is it will be easier for you.
