I have been to WDW five 2-day trips so far this year (going again for two days next week) and have seen the dream team, but have never won. Maybe the next time will be the one. The anticipation and possibilities are fun anyway. Good luck to you all. The prizes upcoming are amazing.

i know disney caught a lot of flak (some of it from posters on this site) about the un-originality of a second YOMD-- hopefully these amazing new prizes will silence the critics.

sure, the name could use a tweak, but the concept is awesome.

Somewhere (on another site) I had seen a breakdown of how many of each prize was to be given out over the course of the promotion, but I can no longer find it. Does anyone have that information?

BTW - It looks like the promotion is already having the desired effect -- I see a lot of people who were not planning trips to Disney properties in 2008 rethinking their plans now!

I hope that is 2,191 prizes a day per resort, and not counting DL and WDW together. On our last trip we never saw a dream team, so sadly my DW's dream of staying in the castle never came true. (We will be there 19-23 Dec, hint hint)

The original YOAMD ran 10/1/06 - 9/30/07. The "extended" YOAMD runs 1/1/08 - 12/31/08.

So what happens between now and Jan 1st?

Are they still giving away dreams as we speak? Are they going to give away more of the "old" dreams and simply not start the "new" dreams?

I would think they wouldn't want to take a break for 3 months and lose what little momentum they had. Of course, that is an entirely selfish statement, since I leave for DL in a week.

While the Year of A Million Dreams was originally announced to run through 9/30/07, after announcing the Disney Dreams Giveaway, The Year of A Million Dreams promotion was updated to run through 12/31/07.

The Year of a Million Dreams (marketing promotion) and the Disney Dreams Giveaways (prize sweepstakes) are really two different entities.

I know this dream will be of interest to several people here-

The secret labs of Walt Disney Imagineering have long been off-limits to the public and off-limits even to most Disney Cast Members. Now, one winner and a guest will get an unprecedented look behind the magic as they play "Sorcerer's Apprentice" for a day.

Led by an Imagineer, they'll tour the Walt Disney Imagineering campus, where they might see blueprints for the latest Disney Parks' blockbuster, play-test an attraction in development or see the inner workings of an Audio-Animatronics figure, all as part of a Disneyland Resort VIP vacation. When you peek behind the curtain, you never know what you might discover.

I came here to find out about the prizes after seeing the commercial on TV talking about the new Disneyland Dream suite for the last few days. The Mickey suite is nice, but I'm guessing people wanted to be able to spend the night inside the Disneyland park, just as they can at WDW. The gallery was nice, but I think the special suite is a nice addition.

I love all the prizes except the HSM one. But I know there are plenty who'd love to have that one. I'm excited they came up with such innovating prizes!
