What should I expect?

From Weather, to rides (different than WDW), to overall experience as compared to WDW. This will be my first trip to Disneyland, as I will be in LA for Business. I would like to know how late the shops and restaurants stay open on Friday nights in Oct. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
