The thread disappeared!

I don't know if I am losing it, but I swore I just saw a thread disappear!

It isn't on the forums any more and when I refreshed the page, it had an error. I posted a few replies on this thread, but when I looked at my previous posts under my profile, none of the posts on that thread were there!

It was a thread that I expected might get closed down by a moderator, but I didn't know that Mods could delete threads...considering I have asked in the past for one of my own to be deleted and instead it was closed.

Is it possible that a mod deleted it or was it just a glitch....or was it that the thread was never there and I am losing it?
