Quick fastpass question

WE are planning a trip to DLR on Sunday July 29 and we know it will be packed, but as we have been many times, we know what we want to ride. SO if we get a one-day park hopper, is it possible to obtain a fastpass in for a disneyland attraction at the same time while holding one for a DCA attraction?
For example, say I just got a fastpass for space mountain. SO then could we hop over to DCA and grab one for soarin or are the parks FP system connected?

Yes, the two FastPass systems in each park are exclusive of the other.
