    Default Ambient music on board

On my first 7 day cruise in 2004, I found myself taken away to another time every evening after most of the ship was asleep thanks to the combination of the classically-designed ship and the fantastic, relaxing Big Band and Swing of the 30s and 40s. Fat improvised trumpets and sax and jazzy piano. In the stair landings you could peruse the photos of Walt and Lillian Disney on deck years ago, or the artwork of the classic Disney animators, and hear the same thing they might have been listening to.

When I returned in 2005, it had been replaced with, sorry to say, standard Disney tunes. The same stuff you can get anywhere. Bad move, DCL.

So what are they doing now? Has anyone noticed?

Still Disney standards. While it fun to have the music when we first got on the ship, by the 3rd day I would have given anything for the kind of music you just described.

Perhaps they could compromise by playing the Disney music during the day and Big Band at night.

I also missed the dueling pianos.
