I couldn't believe this when they started the show I was shocked to hear that.

Prayers and to the Beniot family this is truly a tragic event that happened. The news reported the story however have not said what happened yet. This is just a terrible thing.

The only thing that police have said was that they weren't shot to death... This is a sad and tragic event indeed... On Sunday night, he was due to wrestle at the OOV Vengence... He was unable to make it due to family emergency... One can only wonder what happened....

This shocked the heck out of me when I turned on RAW and they were playing a Royal Rumble match. Even more so when it was Benoits image that was shown on the screen. And then when they showed his family. I remember watching him back in WCW 10 years ago.


The only thing I've seen is on Wikipedia (I know, shaky source) that they've announced he was not shot. And apparently he called off last night because his family was coughing up blood. And then for this, the only thing I can think of is either Radon or CO poisoning.

I'm still in shock over this.

i was going to post something earlier about what people thought about WWE currently.
last night i was looking at results of PPV where Benoit was supposed to wrestle but he was called home for family emergency.
tonight i tuned in to WWE to find out that Chris, his wife and son were found dead in their home.

My husband was thinking the same thing about the poisoning in the house.. Its sad to hear about someone who you have watched over the years fall like this and never to be around again..I am sad and our thoughts are with his family and wrestling family..

I signed on to see if anyone had posted anything on this story because I know there are a few WWE fans around Intercot.

I am absolutely shocked and saddened by this story. Chris Benoit was one of the all time greatest, one of my favorites, and, by all estimations, one of the all around good guys in the business.

There are rumors circulating among the internet wrestling community that this could have been a murder-suidide, an accidental carbon monoxide poisoning, and any number of other scenarios that are just pure speculation.

What is known is that Chris Benoit left the WWE tour over the weekend because of a "family emergency." He was scheduled to fight for the ECW championship against CM Punk last night on pay per view and "no-showed" the event. This afternoon, the bodies of Benoit, his wife Nancy (former wrestling manager/valet "Woman,") and their young son were found in their home in suburban Atlanta.

I'm still numb since hearing the news at the opening of Raw tonight. It's just terrible news.

i know many dismiss wrestling, but they are a family too and tragedies like this show their true selves.

Fox News and WWE.com are now reporting that it was a double murder-suicide. The reports indicate that Benoit killed his wife and son over the weekend and then himself today.

Words can not express my emotions right now. I'm hoping beyond hope that this is proven to be false.

I also truly hope this isn't the case. I find it very difficult to believe it. One thing very appearent on Raw tonight from listening to the other wrestlers talk about him was how important his family was. How much he enjoyed spending time with them. Hopefully it wont turn out what they are saying right now.

I'm sorry to say that reports are now piling up from ESPN, most wrestling news outlets including the Observer, and many other sites that it was, indeed, a murder-suicide.

I'll refrain from speculating for the sake of speculating except to say that, at this point, I'll be more shocked to wake up tomorrow and find the rumors proven false than I will be to find them confirmed.

my husband text me the news at work this evening and i was in shock. then i found out that it was the whole family found dead and i cried. i am still in shock and sadend by the reports of murder- suicide. my heart goes out to the chris,nancy,& daniel's family and friends. chris was one of my ds fav wrestlers of all time. he will be missed dearly in our house. r.i.p chris,nancy,& daniel beniot.

I missed the news at 10 tonight, so I checked out some of the news sites on the web. I'm sorry to say I also read on the major sites nbc, cbs, and fox that is was a murder suicide. I too hope this turns out to be false. My prayers are with the family and friends.
