Does anyone know if the Haunted Mansion closed for refurbishment today as scheduled?

I didn't know it was closing. Glad we went when we did. That is our favourite attraction.

It is closed. There is a picture posted on another website. I know it needs the work but I am sure going to miss it when I go there tomorrow.

It did indeed close on schedule.

There is currently a themed rehab wall/gate around the attraction area complete with a letter from Master Gracey.

The letter reads:

My Dear Guests,


We're terribly sorry, but I'm afraid

The Haunted Mansion

is closed this summer for renovation.

Meanwhile, I'm roaming the netherworld

in search of a few new spirts to join our

family of happy haunts. Super-naturally,

they'll be dying to meet you when

they move in this fall!

I do hope you'll "hurry back."

Nice job by Disney to theme the wall around the building. The letter from Master Gracey is wonderful.

Hopefully, the improved attraction is worth closing the ride during the busy summer months.

We had to postpone our trip this summer and now I'm actually glad that we did! HM is my favorite ride and I only get to go to WDW every few years. It would have been terrible to go when it's closed!

Yep, it's closed. I took a photo of Master Gracey's sign. Thanks to whomever posted the text here!

We got to ride it before it closed. I was talking to some people in line who commented that the inside of HM is much darker this year than last year, which I agreed with - we had noticed the same thing. I think it was so in need of refurb that they turned down the lights. LOL.

They still have the HM music playing when you walk by the area.

I'm so hoping they are doing soft openings at least a week earlier than the official opening date. We leave to come home on 9/5. This was my nephew's first ride. I'm hoping he can go on it again when we are there.

As far as I recall disney only does soft openings on new attractions.over the years I rarely hear of a scheduled refurbishment opening early,late if anything.

I am so sad that the HM will be closed when I am there. It is one of my favorite rides.
