    Default Disney Dining Experience Card

Has anyone ever used this? If you are not interested in doing the dining plan, will this save you any money on a couple of table service meals? Is it worth it? Is the card easy to use? Thanks for your input!

Hi. We have the DDE card and wouldn't be without it. We don't use the DDP and the card has paid for itself over and over. Most Disney restaurants honor it (CS & TS) and it is very easy to use. It is well worth the price.

We love the Disney Dining Experience card! It gives you 20% off the total bill for participating restaurants, including beverages. We typically save a few hundred dollars each trip, and renew it to coincide with our Annual Pass expiration month. It is very much worth the $65 we spend on it.

Although the discounts are for predominantly table service restaurants, several of the resort food courts which do not have TS available on site are included.

    Thumbs up

This our first year to be AP and we got the DDE before our first trip this year. It paid for itself in the first trip. Our family consists of myself, my DW, and DD and we are saving enough at meals that our DD is in effect eating free. It has been a good deal for us.

I think there's a link to the website from the main Disneyworld.com AP website.

Also, if you have the card, remember to use it when you're on the dining plan, too. We've gone with free dining the last couple of years, and were able to use the DDE card for the discount on our alcohol or other upcharged items.

We use it! We've done the DDP and that's all fine and good but we REALLY don't eat that much food- by mid-vacation we're loosening buttons on shorts and rolling around the parks- not good times when it is hot out! We compromise now and just use the DDE card- we order what we actually eat, portion-wise, and get the discount. Includes alcohol drinks too! Which is nice when you have a glass of wine with a fabulous dinner.

We use it too. It paid for itself after one trip. You can get discounts to Pleasure Island also. And when we eat anywhere i always get at least one alcoholic drink and it's good for that too

We got it before our trip last December and picked it up right at Epcot (a temporary card that is until they mailed the "permanent" one), so that was super easy!

My thing is I forget to use it at CS places that accept it -- like Tusker House for example.....I was so happy the chef could make me a gluten free meal I forgot the DDE card!!

One word of caution though -- we learned this last trip: If there is a special ocassion at at TS place make sure they still will accept the card!! We ate at Jiko on Mother's Day and they would not honor the discount.......would have been over $30!!! When I made our ressie they asked if we were on the DDP and I said "no, we have the DDE".....nothing was said at that point. At the check in podium I again told them we were not on the DDP when they asked, but we had the DDE and again nothing was said......until the bill came and the CM (server) had to decline the discount! I was a tad bit , but DH said "Oh well, live and learn!

Only Florida residents and Annual Pass holders can purchase the DDE.

We've been using this card for a few years now. This card will save you quite a bit of money depending on where you dine. It costs $65 (or more) and saves you 20% on meals (including adult beverages! ) so the savings at Disney can add up fast!

Very - just hand it in. I've never been asked for ID, but would love to see that policy changed (and apparently, from reading above, it has changed!).

Hey, you can go to the R&C Pub and get 20% off your drinks! Let me tell you, not many people get that discount! I've impressed more than a few people with 20% off that bar bill.

We normally use the 20% as the "automatic" tip for our server (assuming great Disney service!).

Our family swears by it. There are eight of us - four of which drink alcohol - so there's significant savings to be had.

Also - when you get your card - it does say that its not valid on certain holidays:

    Mother's Day
    4th of July
    Thanksgiving
    December 24, 25, 31 and January 1

Another happy DDE cardholder here! If you are with a large party or even for a couple who frequent the TS restaurants, it is a money saver.

I haven't ever been asked for ID either. I have always either paid the check with my Key to the Kingdom card or my credit card meaning the name on DDE card matched the name and signature on the card being used to pay for the meal. Just a thought.

I just looked at our card and the literature we got with it......the only thing it says is that blackout dates do apply, but none are listed either on the card nor in the literature, which is why I was a bit upset when they would not take it as I had told everyone along the path about the card.

Another happy DDE card holder/user here! We got it with our APs in November and it paid for itself in the first trip. We will certainly renew it later this year!

I just rec'd my DDE card. Will use it for the first time in July. On the back of the paper it was attached to, lists the days it's not valid. Also, the website has the list.
So, you can just go to any of the TS rest. that is on the list, have a drink at the bar and get the 20% off? You do not have to eat? I didn't even think about that when I ordered the card.
One thing I am disappointed in is Teppanyaki does not accept it.
