    Default Hell's Kitchen

I'm so glad this is back.

It looks like we have some real *characters* this season. I don't think Gordon will put up with the crying from everyone for too long. At one point it seemed like everyone was blatting.

I just love this guy! I'm an avid watcher of his BBCA shows; The F Word (F stands for FOOD) and Kitchen Nightmares.

    Bring on the drama!

    Default Cool...

All of a sudden the site let you write the correct title of the show...

I DVR'd it last night since I go to bed about 9pm, but I'm excited to watch, maybe tonight!

I LOVE Gordon Ramsey. F Word is my favorite show of his, I think because it really let's you see what a stand up guy he is. Hell's Kitchen gives the impression that he's a real jerk, but that's so not true. He just doesn't want you to mess with his reputation.

I couldn't believe what I saw last night. That poor waffle house girl, Ramsey is ALL about "every man" being able to make great food. All the other women were so against her, just because her experience was at a waffle house vs. a high end eatery. They wouldn't even let her make an egg! And what was with all the tears!?! Oh...my...god... There's no crying on the line!

I can't wait until next week, it's going to be an awesome season. I only wish that F Word wasn't running reruns.

I love this show and couldn't wait to watch it! Looks like we're in for a great season. Hard to believe the women were being SO mean to Julia. Well, now I have my favorite...Go Julia!!

We love "The F Word'! We have several on the DVR that we haven't watched yet. There was one episode in the first season where he had some celebrity do a secret taste test on wines..one of the wines was their own. They said it didn't taste very good, in no uncertain terms. Then Gordon told them it was their wine...how embarassing!

DH and I had been to London a couple of yrs ago and ate at a restaurant of one of his apprentices. It was nice but had that english food spin on dishes. The cheese course was the best though.

Since I started the topic we can veer and discuss The F Word too - as well as Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares.

I agree 200%. It's so nice to see the *real* Gordon. His friends obviously adore him and he has a beautiful family. I had trouble dealing with the turkeys in the first season.

I knew watching him raise those pigs would be a problem. I couldn't watch most of the slaughter episode. My husband had to tell me when it was safe. Gordon really had a hard time. I felt horrible for him.

I wonder what creature will be in his yard next season??

Julia! Thank you, that's so much better than calling her "Waffle House Girl". LOL!!

I think that the right choices were made last night as far as who to put nominate, I also agree with who left. The past two seasons I've picked the winner from night 1, I'm not to sure this season. I like the red headed girl who was "the best of the worst", but I want to see more interactions on the guys team.

I wasn't surprised. They'll keep Julia around for drama if nothing else. It makes for good TV.

I can't get over the crying either. It does not make sense why they are bawling on the first night. Wait until they haven't had any sleep. I think the crying guy is so wound up, he'll have a melt down, pass out and go to the hospital next week (at least that's what the previews implied). I hope Julia moves to the front too. I found it interesting when they were making fun of her for making the eggs when they could not do it themselves. The secret to the early rounds are surviving as a team. The women did not seem to have that concept last night. My early money is on the red head "Best of the Worst" too.

What network carries the "F word"?

Ooooooooh. Season 3 of The F Word is underway. It's being televised in London now. I imagine we'll get it in the Fall.

Gordon and his family are raising lambs.

I missed it last night! ARGH! I am TiVoing it now, and getting the missed episode next week ... did you see the F Work Episode with the Turkeys? The fact that he named them after other famous London chefs on TV killed me! LOL.

Yay for season 3 of F Word!! I was a little concerned when my DVR started taping the "new shows" and it was season 2. Lamb huh? Gordon had a rough time with the pigs, lambs are actually cute! Should be awesome!

I don't think Aaron is going to make it far, but even last night he kept saying "if my body holds out" which makes me think that he wasn't mentally prepared to go there in the first place.

This fall, FOX is scheduled to start airing a US based version of Kitchen Nightmares with Gordon Ramsay which I'm looking forward to.

This season on the F-word in the UK, he is raising lambs (and again he's kept up the tradition of naming them after celebrities he tends to despise)

It would be interesting to see if a future season of Hell's Kitchen would be like the original 1st season in the UK where Gordon had to train celebrities.

And in a bit of irony, I think the next season of Hell's Kitchen to air in the UK on ITV is set to feature one of Gordon Ramsay's former mentors (and perhaps even more tempermental)- Marco Pierre White.

Has anyone heard if the first to Hell's Kitchen winners have been successful with their new opportunities? I loved the 1st seasons winner that gave up the prize to do the apprenticeship with Gordon. I would love to know how things have gone and what has happened to him.

Here's an excerpt from an interview with Gordon Ramsay about the 1st season winner:

Michael Wray was the extraordinary winner of Season One. He had the idea to come over and join me in the U.K. It wasn't really for his wife, so out of respect for his newlywed he chose to stay over there. He's now gone into a production of knives and kitchen utensils and just about to sign a new lease somewhere down in Malibu Beach. ... He wants to start producing things like Japanese knives and chopping balls and getting into the production side of cooking as well as having eight to 10 tables and having a very Japanese-Californian style restaurant. It sounds like a great idea and he'll put his winnings to use from "Hell's Kitchen.

His knife company is known as "Skull and Cleavers" and since Hell's Kitchen he's been working at Tatou in Los Angeles and is expected to help open a Las Vegas location.

The second season winner Heather was not awarded the position of an executive chef, but was named senior chef of Terra Rosa at the Red Rock Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

And I saw an article that says that another season two contestant- Rachel was found dead in her home on May 9th although the circumstances are still under investigation.

    Cool

Based on the commercials, I've chosen not to watch this show. I know, you're all fans, but I just couldn't do it. I suppose it could be more than what the commercial shows, but watching the one dude scream and holler, and the others get upset and cry..... well, that's just not entertainment for me. It's just watching bad behavior and unnecessary drama. I suppose I'm in the minority, but that's just not entertaining for me.

I'm so sorry to hear that the apprenticeship didn't work out for Michael. It would have been an amazing opportunity. It's good to hear that things are going well though. Thanks for that post!

I read an article mentioning the death of Rachel Brown from season two. It's sad as she was one of the nicer characters on the show.

In reference to the earlier post about Ramsey yelling and contestants crying, that used to bother me too at first. Then after the first season, the method to the madness made sense. In the world of high profile and high stress dining, I think his method does a good job of driving in the importance of what they do and what it would be like having your own place. The crying is not normal for the show. The guy this past week cried for no reason. There was not even any yelling gowing on when he started crying. There is something else happening to that guy.

I've liked the past 2 seasons, but I'm not sure I like this season. What's with all the crying?? And it just felt like the camera men were going out of their way to find people make weird faces, it that makes sense. I didn't like everyone ganging up on Julia, and I really, really didn't like Joanna...I just felt she was full of attitude and 100% against any team work. I hope Monday night is better.
