    Question POR or POFQ?

We are heading back for the 4th of July! Now we must decide where to stay. Last year we stayed at POFQ an loved it but we are an adventerous family and typically stay somewhere different each time we go. So..do we stay at POFQ again where we know we will be happy or do we try POR? My DD (10) and DH (acts 10!) love to swim and the POFQ pool was nice but is the POR pool and slide better for a DD? Is the slide longer? Does it have a bigger drop? Please weigh in and help us decide! Come on - you have opinions - I know you do!

If you stay at POR you can still use the POFQ pool!

We stayed at POR last year but also swam at POFQ. YES! The slide is absolutely better at POR. We loved POR. I requested Bldg. 18 in the AB section which is close to the food court & south bus deport but not adjacent to any parking lot.

I say that if you're a family who enjoys visiting a new resort each trip, try POR. The benefit of staying at POR is that it's the sister resort to POFQ, so you can use POFQ's pool if you decide you don't like POR's. Can't comment on the pools, was too cold to go swimming when we were there, and I think the slide was under rehab. BUT, POR has quiet pools, as well, that your family might enjoy for a quick dip.

We stayed in AB Bldg 25 and were pretty pleased. We had a pretty good hike to get around, but it was very peaceful.

We're trying POFQ in Sept, we think DD (she'll be 5) will enjoy the serpent slide, and we'll enjoy the coziness.

POFQ is smaller and the walk from your room to anything in the resort isn't far. POR is a much larger resort, and a few times our room was so far from the central part of the resort as to be a very long walk after being in the parks all day.

We have stayed at both, and I loved the POR. We liked POFQ, but we loved the atmosphere at POR. It was a beautiful resort. We stayed in an area that was within a short walking distance to the buses. (unfortunately i forget where we stayed). Either way you won't be disappointed. Have a great time!

    My family prefers POR.

That being said, they also tend to enjoy more "relaxing" atmospheres. Being based on old Southern Plantations, POR certainly has that calm air to it.
I prefer the food court here over POFQ.

POFQ has a much more fun and "lively" atmosphere.
I prefer the pool here over POFQ...the slides and fountains are the best--and great photo opportunities.
The Mardi Gras float decorations are fun to check out at their food court.

(side note: we also tend not to go back to POFQ because my mom broke her elbow there, haha. No offense to the resort, my mom just tripped and it brings back bad memories haha.)

I've stayed at POR before and I loved it. It was a really fun resort. It was great to pretend you were Tom Sawyer in the Ole Swimming Hole pool. Also, the food court is pretty big and really good. This time I'm staying at POFQ and I'm so excited! It looks really quaint and romantic(which is great for my boyfriend and I in Nov.). I'm psyched!

I'd definitely give POR a try. This is a resort my wife always said she didn't want to try. But when we went there a few years back, she absolutely loved it. It is now her favorite moderate resort. We stayed in the Alligator Bayou, as did many responders here, and truly enjoyed each walk to the bus stop. I liked the food court more, plus it has a full-service restaurant. POFQ does not. I think the pool is better and just enjoyed the whole place more.

That's not to say POFQ is bad. It's far from it. It's a wonderful resort. But if you're looking to change things up, I'd definitely give this a look-see!
