Please Help! Universal Resort Choice

I currently have a bay view room at the Portofino for a three night stay with my DH and 3 sons 9.6.& 5.

We are Florida residents and the discounts are deep for the first weekend in June.

Due to some cash flow issues, I'm thinking about changing the reservation. The water view room at the RP is the same price as a garden view room at the Portofino. Which should I choose? Should I keep the ressie as is?

We are loyal Disney guests; this is our first trip to Universal AND my sons 7th Birthday celebration so I want everything to be perfect. Please help. If I'm going to change this I need to make the change this morning. I have NO idea what to do.

The Portofino is a beauitful resort. The rooms are quite sizable. The bathroom is a room in itself! However, I've never found the Portofino "family-friendly." If I were to choose a family resort, I'd go for Royal Pacific Resort. The rooms are smaller, though.

Still, you won't go wrong with either resort!
