Default Rose & Crown ADR's for Illuminations

We are planning on making ADR's for Rose & Crown and we want to be there for Illuminations. What time do you think would be best to make the ADR's for and did you like the experience of seeing Illuminations from Rose & Crown

    Default ADR for Illuminations

Usually we go no later than 7. It gives you plenty of time especially if the dining room is full. Twice we ran late and asked to see the show while in the main dining room. The waiter on both occasions held off dessert, took us out to the patio, we saw the fireworks then went back to our table and had dessert. So it never hurts to ask.

We made our reservations for about 7:15 and asked if it would be possible to wait for a patio table if one wasn't available. We only had to wait about 10 minutes (we arrived about 15 minutes early). When we were seated we told our waitress that we would really like to see Illuminations. She assured us that we would not be rushed and she timed our courses perfectly. All of the diners in our area on the top level were planning on doing the same and the waitstaff were very accommodating. Everyone around us were very friendly and we all ended up sharing courses so we got to taste and recommend things to each other. It was one of the most pleasant dining experiences we ever had. Kudos to the staff at R&C for offering their guest such a fine time!

We had reservations for 7:00 and managed to get an outside seat. We were not rushed at all and really enjoyed the evening. Great viewing of the Illuminations. However, I have to say that due to the way the wind was blowing that night, we kept getting the burnt fireworks papers, and some were hot, falling on our table. Needless to say we did not finish our drinks because of the floaties in them.

We watched Illuminations at R&C on our honeymoon. We loved it, the service was and timing were perfect, however we too had an issue with the wind, and sparks and "stuff" flying our way. I actually asked for a new meal, since mine was totally covered in firework junk.

They were totally OK, and brought it out ASAP, but it is something to think about.

We have enjoyed R&C patio seating several times, usually we book around 7.30. and hope for outside to watch Illuminations. The problem is everyone wants this so they will not let you wait for a patio table, you take the next available table or forget it. It is the luck of the draw, but even if your inside you can go to the outside area reserved for R&C guests and watch then return to your meal-hopefully desert.
The view of Illuminations is wonderful in this spot but is also very good at other spots and if the wind is not cooperating you can move to a better area.

This is true. They used to allow you to wait for patio seating but due to popularity, that is no longer an option.

Still, they do have their own viewing area they will lead you to unless it is booked for a private event(which happens rarely but can happen). The bottom line is that if you want to view Illuminations, the R & C is not the best option. But if you want to enjoy a nice meal and possibly catch Illuminations, it is a great option. There is a suggested two hour limit for diners at R & C, so I wouldn't plan ADRs much earlier than 7:30 but you can show up for an ADR fifteen minutes early.
