Am I reading the Contemporary update correctly? Is the Concourse Steakhouse being not only moved, but replaced by The Wave?

We saw the new arcade the other day. It's pretty bland. I have such great memories of the old arcade from many moons ago (i.e. when I was a kid in the Stone Age

) and this new one is so tacky. I hate those dollar munching ticket dispensers. That's so tacky. I wish Disney didn't stoop to that level to make a buck. It cheapens the entire place, IMO.

The Contemporary was once my favorite resort, but they're messing it all up ... I'm very disappointed.

OK, so another thing closing in August. We have been talking about going back to Concourse Steakhouse since our trip last August, had our ADR's in line, and now it is going to be closed.

I am sorry, but you would think they would figure these things out early enough to not have ADR's accepted, especially when it is so hard to get a decent time for an ADR these days. Since it is not official, I am sure we will get no help in getting a decent time somewhere else.

Sorry, but needed to vent. I know things need to be rehabbed/updated, but is seems they decided to do everything during August.

Basically. The "Table Service option" is to be moved downstairs, but it will no longer be the Concourse Steakhouse.

I think you mis-read the dates. The Concourse Steakhouse is tentatively scheduled to close April 2008 ... reservations are currently not available beyond November 2007.

I did indeed read the dates as 2007, not 2008, sorry for jumping the gun.. We will be certain to enjoy it this time, as it will probably be the last. Now if they can only get Haunted Mansion, SSE, AKL construction, all the other rehabs, AND the free beer counter

in world showcase completed by August, it will be perfect. It is good to see them putting money back in the parks.

That's some interesting stuff, thanks for keeping us informed. I made a late breakfast ADR for September hoping it wouldn't be too busy because it's an off time. I sure am glad we'll be there after they're opened for lunch, since that will only last through just the beginning of September. That's interesting about the ride cars in the Safari. Also, with all the changes at the Contemporary resort is it still looking like the Concourse Steakhouse will be open during Free Dining, because we have an ADR there, too. "The Wave" sounds like the title of a restaurant in the Polynesian more than in the Contemporary. Lots of changes coming up, it's cool to be in the know this way!

Fantasia Gifts is currently operating in a temporary form via kiosks in the open area of the Grand Concourse level.

Oh no, I love the center island in the monorails! It helps me feel more secure if I have to stand up. I'll miss them if they get rid of them all in favor of poles alone.

I'm not sure how I feel about Tusker House going from quick service to buffet. It is still my favorite quick service restaurant in the parks, but there are few other options for table service at AK. Ah well, we'll just have to wait and see . . .
