Some Pet Pixie Dust

Hey everyone...I could use any extra prayers/pixie dust that you have for our family pet.

We have a chihuahua named Buddy that we've had for about 11 years. The other day we noticed he was favoring his leg, but assumed that he had hurt his hip and so we waited to take him to the vet until the next day. Well...the next day he was even worse and could barely even walk. The vet says that his liver is failing and basically his organs are shutting down. He thinks it's some kind of bad bacteria infection or that it's possible he got into some rat poison. The vet gave him a 50/50 chance and put him on an IV, steroids and gave him a Vitamin K shot in case it was rat poison.

So far today the vet has not called with any bad news, so we are all hoping that he will recover. He's like a member of our family and none of us can imagine losing him.

It's so difficult to see a precious member of the family sick (I know...our 2 pups are our babies), and I hope he gets well super fast.

I am sad to say that Buddy died yesterday. The vet confirmed that it was indeed rat poisoning and that he was hemmoraging too much inside. We aren't sure how and when he got into it, but I'm sure that it didn't help that he was an older dog.

I went out to my parents house yesterday after work so we could bury him.

We put him in a spot in the yard where he loved to lay under the tree and watch the cows.

I have to say, it was very hard to say goodbye. He's been with us for so long and such a good little dog.

Thanks so much for all the prayers and pixie dust, it really means alot to me.

I'm sorry to hear about Buddy, Melissa. He might have been a small dog, but I'm sure his passing has left a big void in your life.
