computer problem

Hi there,
I forgot my password to log on to windows, I found out how to go in and take care of the problem, however, I have to get into the Safe mode, I shut my computer down and then turn it on and tap the F8 key, but I can't get my computer to go into the safe mode, it goes right to the Windows log on screen...

Luckily this is the computer in the garage, not the house or I would be going nuts!!

Any suggestions?

Press and hold the F8 key. When you press the F8 key is important. It works after the motherboard diagnostics and before the Windows load screen.

There are some other programs out there that can help as well. Mostly hacker type tools that you burn to a CD and boot off of to change Windows passwords, but if you're just trying to get onto the Administrator account (hopefully you remember that password) to change the other users passwords, you're on the right track.

thanks for the info....however, for some reason I cannot get this computer into the safe mode!!
