As I was snacking on some Samoas (or whatever they call them now) I started to think about what our troop's cut was when I was a Scout. We had to sell an awful lot of boxes to make it to Disneyland!
I think it's close to 50 cents a box right now. Of course, 50 cents doesn't go quite as far as it used to.
If I could add a question, I wonder how much cookies are in different areas. In this part of Michigan, we charge 3.50/box right now.

They are $4 here in tucson, az. The girls do not get much of the cut. When I was a scout, they were $3 a box and we got anywhere from 40 to 45 cents a box depending on the troop selling average.
In Beaver County, PA (1/2 hr outside of Pittsburgh), we charge $3.50 per box and the troop receives $.60 per box. The price is set by the local counsil. Closer to Pittsburgh, they only charge $3.00 per box - it's a different counsil. BTW, we still call them Samoas although in some places I guess they are called Caramel Delights (or something like that!).
In Houston they sell for $3.50 a box. The troop gets $.45 a box. The Junior and Senior level troops can choose to get an extra $.05 per box (must be unanimous) or they can receive awards like t-shirts or little radios etc.

Caramel DeLites are what we call them around here. I still have a bunch of boxes left and people we can't seem to connect with.
