Default Magic Kingdom on Google My Maps

    Hi!

Google has a new tool called My Maps on Google Maps. You can create your own maps and share them with others, this might be neat way to show people where things are at Disney World or anywhere else in the world for that matter! Check it out! Here's a map I made showing where Cinderella's Castle is:

It is a wonderful sight to see. How so many square buildings and concrete can create something so memorable and magical.

And the pic has to be a few years old. The trees at the hub in front of the castle have not been there for some years. And it looks like 20,000 was still being maintained. And it is definitely post 25th cuz the skyway wires are gone.

I would also say mid-summer about 10-1030am judging from the traffic and parking.

But all in all a wonderful picture.

    Thumbs up

    That is too cool.

I love the ability that it provides to put in "points of interest & descriptions".

Exactly! That is a brand new feature! It also lets you attach pictures and video to those points!

    As Crush would say, "Sweeeet!".

I saw that announced today or yesterday, but haven't had the chance to do anything with it. Good Job!
I've done something similar using the Microsoft maps, and I like their "aerial" view a little bette because it gives you an even closer view.

It can't be too old because they have begun work on Expedition Everest. However, with those pictures, they can always lace them together using those from different dates/times.

You can create as many maps as you want, I think, here's another one I made:

Remember, the first step to stopping is admitting you have a problem.

If you think that's cool, you should see Microsoft Virtual Earth, they have a bird's eye view that's a lot more detailed and allows some wonderful angles of not only WDW, but almost any major metropolitan area in the U.S.A.

Sorry, I can't find the link, but perhaps someone else could? Sorry again.

Does Microsoft Virtual Earth allow you to share your maps with others via a URL link? Also, does it allow you to add points of interest that include personal pictures and video?

Hmmm. Possibly, but I haven't explored it that thoroughly yet. The views, however, are worth a look if you haven't tried it. I'm still trying to figure out how to post the link. Sorry.

Ditto! Microsoft's view is MUCH better than Google's. Check it out!

Nah they pretty well integrated. But yes, you are right, I would say within the last year or 2.

I'll answer my own question: Why yes it DOES! Check this out, and I have to agree, Microsoft reigns supreme again:

Thanks for figuring it out for me, and I'm glad you liked it. Did you like the Bird's Eye View?

(I suppose if we've accepted worshipping a media conglomerate ruled by a mouse, I guess we can kowtow to a computer giant with a nerd at the helm.)

For the best view in Microsoft Windows Live, make sure you are in Birds Eye View.

In the control toolbox at the top left corner of the map or satellite view, first make sure 2D is selected, the select the buildings icon (below the folded map icon.)

This view is not available in all areas (like parts of the Studios).
