Tonga Toast at home

Hi everyone.

This may not be the right board for this and please move if it is not, but I was just wondering if anyone knows where to get some good, thick sourdough bread in the Philly area (Montgomery/Bucks county) in order to make homemade Tonga Toast? We tried it one time, but the bread wasn't quite right. Just wondering. Thanks!

My suggestion would be to try the Atlanta Bread Company in Exton or when all else fails, GIANT had the best sourdough that we found in our old area (Upper Gwynned/Lansdale).

Let me just say that I REALLY miss the bread & rolls from Philly (especially the pretzels). I would almost kill for a WAWA Meatball Sub or breakfast from Pumpernicks (Montgomeryville), right now. Okay... enough whining from me.
