Wow, that's great that it has worked out for so many people, however, as a long time member I wouldn't recommend anyone buying DVC points with the idea of often using them at the last minute in mind.

OP Make sure you buy at the resort you wish to stay at because October is a very popular time especially with DVCers. That alone may restrict you to buying resale.:mickey:

On the Fantasy they have the 3 rotation menus, Pirate Menu, Capt. Gala Dinner, Prince & Princess, and See Ya Real Soon menus. Don't know about Cabanas.

Last month I checked in at the end of our trip but didn't have a printer. We always use curb side checkin and they checked our bags and gave us our boarding passes...very easy.
