Nothing to Dread, but Dread themselves
4/28/10 The Haunted Mansion has temporarily added an interactive element to its queue themed to the lost fortune of the Dread family. The themed element is a Mausoleum wall etched with images of departed Dread family members. If Guest's listen closely to each etching, the Guest will hear a whispered clue relating to the location of the fortune of family patriarch Jacob Dread. Once a Guest has listened to all of the clues, they should be able to figure out the fortune's location on the Mansion grounds. This test is expected to be operating from 11 am - 3 pm, but may be active for only a short period of days.
A Chance Meeting
4/24/10 It has been internally announced that Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be conducting a unique character Meet & Greet opportunity through Mid-May. Today (April 24th) thru May 14th, 2010; Bolt, Jessie, and the Green Army Men will be appearing in the Muppet Courtyard intermittently, daily. Bolt and Jessie are scheduled to conduct a typical Meet & Greet opportunity while the Green Amy Men have been announced to “patrol” the area. The announcement also indicated that these additions are in conjunction with the refurbishment closure of the Muppet Vision 4-D show.
Foodies Flying High
4/24/10 The Flying Fish Cafe at Disney’s Boardwalk has added a new intimate gastronomical experience. The restaurant has introduced the Chef’s Tasting Wine Dinner, an intimate 6-person experience held at the Chef’s Counter in front of the on-stage kitchen. The five-course meal is served with paired wines for $135 per person or without wine for $85 per person. The exclusive event is offered at 5:45 pm and 8:15 pm nightly Sunday through Thursday. The event may be postponed during Peak Holiday Periods, so it is suggested to check for availability during those times. Reservations may be made via 1-407-WDW-DINE.
Summer of Stars
4/21/10 Character Cast have reported updated information concerning the two Meet & Greets internally announced in February. It has been reported that the Prince Dastan Meet & Greet has been postponed indefinitely, while the Lotoso Meet & Greet has been scheduled to begin May 9th, 2010 in the Magic of Disney Animation building. It has been additionally reported that Lotso will join the line-up of Pixar characters in the Pixar Block Party Bash parade.
2/17/10 Character Cast have reported that Lotso is scheduled to start daily Meet & Greet appearances in Early May 2010 in the Magic of Disney Animation building. Lotso will reportedly replace the spot vacated by the UP characters.
2/7/10 Two Stars of the Silver screen will be descending onto Disney’s Hollywood Studios this Summer. Character Cast have reported that Prince Dastan, from Prince of Persia, will start regular Meet & Greet appearances in May 2010. Character Cast have also reported that Lotso, from Toy Story 3, will start daily Meet & Greet appearances Summer 2010. Lotso is a purple teddy bear who will be introduced in the third chapter of the Toy Story trilogy.
Earth Extravaganza
4/21/10 Disney’s Animal Kingdom park will conduct its annual Earth Day celebration on April 22, 2010. Activities this year include a Meet & Greet with Jiminy Cricket at the park entrance from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, a Party Central event at Rafiki’s Planet Watch featuring appearances by PIPA and Jiminy Cricket, and special activity stations scattered through-out the park.
El Meet y Greet
4/21/10 A new permanent Meet & Greet location for Mexican Donald Duck is currently under-construction in Epcot’s Mexico pavilion. The new location is expected to feature a photo backdrop, prop, and queue area. The area is expected to open in May 2010.
Roll’n on a Stunt Track
4/21/10 Studios Cast have reported that the Light Motors Action Extreme Stunt Show Stadium has been scheduled to under-go a rolling refurbishment in the near future. The show’s operation will be unaffected by this refurbishment, but Guests should expect some of the bleachers to be blocked off while they are being refurbished. Guests seeing this show in the near term may want to queue up to the show earlier than planned due to limited seating. Hard dates for this rolling refurbishment have yet to be reported.
An Expansion Fantasmic!
4/21/10 The Fantasmic! Dining Package has been expanded at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Studios Cast have reported that the Brown Derby restaurant and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano are now offering the package for Lunch seatings in addition to Dinner seatings.
