YEA! I can't wait!
:clappy:
Oh I'm SO excited!! One of my favorite shows! Thanks Melanie! :mickey:
Yeah! The only thing that drives me crazy is I have to remember to record the shows after it or chance missing the end.
Yay! I can't wait either! Definitely one of my favorite shows! :yay:
Oooh! Can't Wait!!
Oh yeah--I can't wait for TAR!! After taking a look at the bios I don't know what to think. One thing's for sure, hair stylists are very well-represented this year. And the guys from Princeton sound like they will provide a lot of the comic relief. :D
:joy: Can't wait!!!
:clappy: :joy: :yay:
Looking forward to it!
I was just reading the bios and one really stuck out - bio mom and daughter who have only recently found each other. When the race took place, they'd only just met!
Oh, and has everyone seen the video of the shopping network host getting pinged by a watermelon? OMG!!! Ouch.
:joy::joy::joy: I love this show.
Wow. Vicki is probably the most unintelligent person ever on this show, at least that I can remember.
The beauty pageant girl, although I like her dad, is going to grate my nerves I think. The same with the TV hosts.
I like the father/son (anyone ever heard of them) and the lady docs. And the birth mother and daughter seem so sweet, but I don't think they'll last very long.
Glad TAR is back!
The volleyball girls seem to be mean girls also. Their comments about the girl with the short hair and others weren't very nice.
Liked the lady docs and the father son so far, time will tell.
Has there ever been a team go from first place to last, with this many teams still playing? Wow, that was being really, really lost.
I thought that was just so ironic it was hysterical. "Right in the kisser!" Maybe next time you should clarify which kisser you want it to hit! LOL :funny: :rotfl:
"They don't call it the Amazing Race for nothing"
And whenever Ron & Tony were talking about how smart Tony was and how he hid it and would surprise everyone, I knew immediately they would be the first team eliminated.
Ok, please, take note: WHEN you go on The Amazing Race learn how to drive a stick shift. You will need this skill.
EVERY season. Ugh.
The watermelon to the face seemed downplayed. I think that would have hurt and caused some damage.
And, the country of London has closed off future travel to stupid Americans.
Great first episode.
Yeah, we saw everything prior. I can't believe it didn't break her nose.
The country of London. Oy. And she'd never heard of Stonehenge? If she's this "lost" in England, think about some of the other countries they'll go to.
Oh, but I will say that they were the only ones to figure out that sitting in the middle of the boat (after they found it, that is) worked best.
Yikes ... some real dummies in this crew so far, huh? Vicki ... oy ... please. Ouch.
A couple of the women last night were really annoying. What was with all the shrill shrieking all the time?? They sounded like a group of my daughters friends at a sleepover. Too bad my daughter's 8 years old! :shake:
I think it was the daughter in the dad/daughter combo and the T.V. hosts. Man ... shut up already!
Liking the Asian dad and son team so far, the docs, and I was actually liking the guys that got eliminated. I kinda felt bad for them ... they just seemed totally lost and not really ready to compete at a TAR level, ya know? They were really nice, though.
Overall I'm just glad this show is back!
True, but I still had compassion on those struggling with the stick shift. Both my husband and I can drive one, but it's a whole other ballgame to do with the stick on the left rather than the right (and then driving on the left side of the road). You get used to it, but it takes time, which they just don't have on TAR.
Here are the people who I have a negative impression about so far: the volleyball girls, arrogant Chad (Stephanie is okay), Nick and Vickie (duh!) and Jill (didn't care for her sour expression several times during the race).
I totally agree that several of the women need to take it down a notch in the shrill department--Claire, Brooke and Mallory (the beauty queen, who seems sweet but what is with the juvenile shrieking and clapping of the hands like a 5-year-old?) I like the Princeton guys, but they had better learn to not be quite so nice if they want to win it. I appreciate that they stopped when the other teams had car problems, but it was rather pointless since there was nothing they could do to help them. I also like the father/son team from Sugarland, TX--they seem to be a funny pair, but they also have to step it up competitively. And I really like the docs, especially as Nat is a diabetic and must use an insulin pump. I kind of cringed when she said her blood sugar was 337, but I guess it's better for it to be high in a situation like that than low. I think they have the potential to go far.
It was really fun seeing some of the familiar sites in England that we just saw a couple of months back. I can attest to the signage and roundabouts being tricky to read sometimes, but I still don't understand how Ron and Tony got that lost. Most of the time they were on the major motorways and those are pretty easy to navigate.
One of my favorite reality shows for many reasons. I liked the birth mother and daughter, I like Michael and Kevin, and I the doctors I would have rather seen Nick and Vicki eliminated.
Wow! What an interesting group of competitors. Sorry, I don't know all the names yet, but I'll get up to speed as the Race continues. I have to give the "Game Lady" prize to the one who took a melon right in the face. OUCH. I'm sure she loosened some teeth, but she hung in there and finished that segment. Woo hoo!
I have to wonder how well some of the teams will do in a country where the native language isn't English.
Should be quite an adventure...
Too bad for Andie and Jenna. I felt like they wouldn't get far, but what a great story! I hope they stay close.
DO.NOT.LIKE.BROOKE! Her voice and just her way of doing things bugs me. And the daughter/beauty queen too. Can you say hyper? Ugh.
Loving Kevin and Michael, although next week doesn't look too good for them.
Oh, Oh! It does not look good for Pops and the kid next week. Hope it isn't so as they are really the only team I like at this point. I could happily see all the women, but the docs, get a ticket home. I'm betting money there isn't a tourbook out that suggests handing out kisses to strange men in third world countries. Was she crazy or just money hungry.....wait a minute probably both!!!
I feel bad that Andie and Jenna are gone, but honestly I like the Dad/Daughter team a bit more than them so I was kinda happy with the finish.
Good show overall.
I couldn't believe that TAR sent the racers to Ghana! Talk about a rough destination!
I was happy with the outcome -- and I am enjoying this season.
I was happy with the results.
It seems like they've included more women teams in this race. I wonder if they're trying to get an all female team winner.
Just a couple of seasons ago they were in Dubai, UAE, where they've recently been enforcing their public decency laws. But I agree it's highly unlikely that she would actually be arrested. I guess my point was that, has she given any thought at all to the concept that this may not be acceptable in many cultures?
The kissing was so wrong on so many levels; laws of the country, some woman smacking you one for messing with her man, some men thinking that you might like more than just a kiss and the top of my hit parade - GERMS!!! I must wash my hands a million times at WDW just so I don't catch someones nasty bugs. What would be your reaction if a stranger came up and gave you a big smooch at Epcot? :ack:
Me too. And I like that they are bringing the teams and viewing audience to new destinations. It's always interesting getting a glimpse into new countries and cultures.
As far as the results, I would have much preferred that the beauty queen and her dad to have gone home than Andie and Jenna. Mallory's dramatic facial contortions are driving me crazy. And how foolish was it of them to sit in that stalled taxi? They should have jumped out and gotten a new one right away.
This is one of those times I really wish they had a reunion show. I'd love to have known their reactions when they found out that decoder key was right around the corner.
I know--as they all walked by it on the way to the ring-rolling thing, I kept saying "Look behind you! Look behind you!" :silly:
Glad the Houston dad and son are still there, and I hope they make up some time in the next leg. I'm not liking the volleyball players and sheesh--that Nick is something! His pseudo-apology at the end did not make me feel any better about him either.
At one point, one competitor looked back over her shoulder at the building, but just didn't see the code. I guess she and the others were beat down by the awful heat. I was sweating just watching them.
Yay for Dad and Son getting another chance. I've seen teams come back from Speed Bumps and do very well. Hope they continue to race because I really like them.
Also like the singers coming in first. They ran a very smart race this time.
Was I the only one who found the challenges last night a bit uninspired? If not maybe completely dull?
I mean a challenge to find Ghana on a map? That was not exactly compelling television nor was rolling a barrel hoop across a field twice.
Kinda disappointed at this past episode.
