Oh my gawsh!!!!! What a dream come true!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!:mickey:  :mickey:
I still keep thinking of your family and giggling.
Have you guys come back down to Earth yet?
Congrats, to you and your family Ian. The pictures are wonder!
Oh yeah ... it doesn't take long for reality to come crashing back in once you get home.
The one thing that amazed me, though, was that we never felt one iota of depression about heading back to Pop Century after we checked out. We were just so thrilled to have had that opportunity we floated back to the resort no questions asked!
Im so happy for your family what a great and unexpected thrill..:mickey: But then again thats what Disney is all about...MAGIC around every coner...:cloud9:
Thanks for sharing, it seems like a tremendous thrill- I can only wish that we could win that-
I am glad to see you having such a great time:party:
GROAN! :bang:Quote:
Honestly, I think they took great "panes" (get it? panes? ) to ensure that people outside wouldn't see anyone moving around up there.
I'm glad someone appreciated my pun!
You know, I got so caught up in all the excitement, reading all the posts about this and looking at all the pictures (and, quite frankly, daydreaming about what would happen if I won), that I completely forgot to say Congratulations and Thanks for posting all this...especially in such a timely manner!!
So, congratulations and thanks!
Thanks for shearing your pics with us!! I'm glad one of us INTERCOTEES was able to experience that. Congrats!! :mickey:
COngrats!
ill have to read your report!
wonder if they would pick a solo traveler?
Wow that was such great news.. I got a little teary eyed reading the post.. I am so happy that he got that magical moment with his family. I love reading good news !!
Congratulations Ian !!!
Keep us posted on your experience at the castle..
:pixie: : pixie:
Forgive me if this has already been asked as I have not read all replies but I was just curious, did Disney comp your room for the night you stayed in the castle or did you still have to pay for that night even though you weren't in the room? Hope this question doesn't offend and isn't too intrusive or personal
Sorry I'm late responding to this ... I just saw it and no, it's definitely not intrusive or personal at all.
They did not. We were charged the full amount for our stay at Pop. I have to admit, I did have some fantasies about them maybe comping us the night, but once I considered how expensive the whole thing was for Disney I kinda figured they wouldn't.
I mean when you consider how many CM's they were paying to look after us, the free meals/snacks/drinks they gave us, not to mention the mementos, pictures, gifts ... it probably added up to quite a bit.
I had been wondering that myself. I suppose since there's no criteria to win except for the right place in the right time, what about those staying off site or just there for the day? They'd essentially stay for free. It also makes me think they would have multiple locations chosen each day in case whomever the first winner was could not do it (like they are flying out that day, etc.).
They did tell us that if the selected party does not accept the prize (which, believe it or not, does happen!) then they move on and select someone else.
I guess they call back to home base or something and have the computer spit out a new location.
Well I know I am extremely late with this, but wow! What a fantastic trip report. It sounds like you all had a blast. Talk about easy access to MK! Great pictures and thank you for taking the time to share this experience with us.:cloud9:
First of all I can't explain to you how happy I am that you are sharing your experience with us all!! We are truly blessed!
Second I have to say how excited I am that not only did a true disney family win it BUT you also like the band u2 which is my absolute favorite band!!! I saw that you had their shirt on the day you won!!! What irish luck that gave you!!! :)
Congrats and thank you soo much for sharing your experience with your fellow intercotees :)
I was also a disney cast member in 98 and love hearing these magical moments. :)
:mickey:
You have a good eye to pick that up from those pictures ... must be a real U2 fan!
Yeah, I go way back with U2. I saw them live on the Unforgettable Fire tour and have been hooked ever since. I think I've seen them in concert like a dozen times and would go a dozen more.
They're definitely my favorite band, too!
