Typhoon Lagoon - Shade?
Never been there before and I will be if the weather holds. My only comparison is to Aquatic at Sea World.
My question is whether they have areas that are shaded?
Aquatic has hug sunscreens on the beach of the wave pool. I am just wondering if TL has this also or if you have to pay for the preferred area. I have had skin cancer and prefer to be out of the sun when it is not necessary. Don't worry, I will bring a 50g drum of sunscreen and soak in it before heading off to the slides and stuff :mickey:

If I remember correctly there are definitely areas that are shadier than others, I would recommend arriving as early as possible so you have your choice. You could also always look for a cheap sunshade/tent like I've seen people use at the beach.

When I was at Aquatic last Summer, they have giant umbrella shades that caver about 50 lounge chairs each. I was not sure if TL had something like this. From the sounds of it, the answer is no. I will get there before opening and stake a claim somewhere.
I hope to get some advice online for places to go to sit.

There are plenty of small, beach type umbrellas in the Crush 'n Gusher beach area. We got one first thing in the morning and based ourselves from there all day.
There are also the cabanas and pavilions that can be rented.

There are areas with trees for shade.

Thank you. I have been looking at maps. I think the general area around the wave pool has a lot of shady areas. The plan is to stake a claim there at opening and off to the slides.

Get there early and you can have your pick of the shade. In some areas the shade moves around as the day progresses so try to take that into account.

There are a few areas around the wave pool that are shaded. We arrived at TL before opening and had our pick of areas with shade. The only problem we had was when we returned to our chairs (that had personal items and towels) a lady had taken it! According to her she was pregnant and needed a shaded seat. I had to tell her she should have gotten up earlier!
We have never been to Aquatica. How did your family like it?

We loved Aquatica. Nothing to really compare it to because it had been about 15 years since I had been to a water park.
