Since Genie and I have been chatting about all of our pictures, I have felt inspired, even challenged, to get off of my hiney and get serious about posting some albums for people to look at. So, what I have up is currently some Character folders from various WDW & a DLR trip, plus one with the people I met last trip. This is, I hope, the link;
http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/flyingicemanvx/my_photos

Let me know if it works, and as I update folders I'll update the post.

I just got finish with looking at your pics and there is some I'm quite mad about. You got some that I've been trying to get over here in Disneyland like.

Smee
Robin Hood
Scoorge McDuck
Daisy Duck
Mike
Bere Rabbit

You are lucky. There is some there of the Princess that are not good looking like the human form of Ariel in the green dress and Cinderella as well as Snow White. But I like that pic with Minnie kiss u and the one with Jasmine that has her arms around your showder. Good thing Aladdin or Genie was not there. Or u get a boo boo.

Oh by the way. The mouse with the purple drees on that goes to Cinderella her name is Purla. Just in case you want to know. The other mouse that is in blue her name is Suzy.

Well Genie, I guess fair is fair since you've got some pics of characters I haven't found in WDW yet!
And the Princesses? Eh, they are pretty enough in either park, but (brownie points) they just don't catch my eye as much as the Princess with me in most of the pictures!!
Here comes the fun question now: I have several pictures of me (and my wife before we met) from our DLR trips back in the late '60's and early '70's.
Wanna see what the characters looked like over 30+ years ago??

Blue Genie
01-10-2007, 02:19 AM
I've seen what Capt. Hook Pinocchio and Mickey & Minnie look like back then. But the others I haven't I know there was no Belle or Genie or Ariel but I know there was a Cinderella,Snow White, Mad Hatter but sure if you want to post them go ahead.

Iceman, I want to see the old character pictures.

I have some pictures of the characters from the very early 70's. I have them somewhere, maybe even online. I'll look.. you can also see me riding the pack mules in Disneyland.

- Yeah, I'm older than dirt.

Wow! Really digging all of these pictures everybody!! I think we've really hit upon something cool here (everyone post a link so we can check out you're pic's too please??)
Alrighty then, there's a new folder of "Classic DLR" pics posted now. Quick reference: In the cast of family characters, there are the Barrell's (my Mom, Dad, borthers Steve and Will, Aunt Michelle, Grandma Georgia & myself, refered to as "JB") and the Wyatt's (Christy and her parents.) And before there are any smart remarks, Yes! They did indeed make color film back in the late 60's!!!

Some of them characters looks funny looking. Like that big no giant head of the Mad Hatter and the long legs on Mickey. That Winnie the Pooh looks evil with them red eyes. I'm going to post a new topic on here so how Patti can make it a sticky so when we get any new photos or old ones we can all just put are link on there.

Awesome Easy Rider picture. One of our top ten movies in my household.

Wow all the old Disneyland pictures. Guess I need to start looking for mine. I never was much into taking pictures with characters though. Got one with the Indian Chief in the Indian Village. I wasn't happy when that was taken. :(

Iceman, loved your old photos. :)

Sadly I don't have too many pictures. I do remember all those characters though. We moved to Redondo Beach in 69 and Disneyland became a frequent Saturday trip as my Dad was a Magic Key Club holder and our book of tickets worked on any ride.

That Big Bad Wolf made me cry once.. I still owe him.

Here we go with some more photo goodies!
First go to:
http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/flyingicemanvx/my_photos
Check out "All Dressed Up" for Ice's favorite Holiday involving costumes!
Check out "Jazzland" for a trip to New Orleans and it's attempt at a Theme Park!
Check out "ROPES 1; Course" to see some of the Challenge Courses I work at. Only a few people have ever asked "so what is ROPES?" (mostly Snarky) so here are some pics of what we do (these are either staff, camp counselors or training that I also went through, not any of my patients.) Course legend is:
AIR; Adventures In Reality (Grand Coteau, LA)
CLSH; Central LA State Hospital (Pineville, LA)
CGW; Camp Grant Walker 4-H/LSU Ag-Center (Pollock, LA)
OSU; Oklahoma State University (at Camp Grant Walker's Course)
URC; Uskichitto Retreat Center (LeBlanc, LA)
Check out "ROPES 2; Conference" This is from the year Christy & I were asked to help put together and co-host the Association of Experiential Educators/Mid-South Conference with the Louisiana State AEE Rep (and some help from the people at CLSH.)
Last, I've added some new pics to "Xtra Stuff", mostly pictures of Christy's world travels & from Northern California where I used to live.
When you're bored, enjoy...

:rotfl: :haha: ELVIS!!! :rocker: :funny: :funny:

Ice really though I have to tell you, the girls just Loved, Loved, Loved the ropes program! It was strange because we were not familiar with what it was and had to explain to them what they were paying for!! As soon as it was over they talked non stop about it! They did a kind of "Island game"? They had to work together to safely get from one "island" to another. They worked on trust, partnership, planning ahead, risk taking etc. It really was the hit of the weekend. Even my older girls were disapointed that they paid more to go horseback riding and heard how wonderful the ropes program was( well maybe because the instructors were two cute boys in thier early 20's ;) )
Thanks for cluing me in! It looks like you have a lot of fun loving co workers! Keep up the good work!

They did a kind of "Island game"? They had to work together to safely get from one "island" to another.
Hmm... We kinda have a saying in ROPES: There are no new games, only multiple variations of the same old games!
Thhere's a couple of "Island" themed games we use; One is Called "Islands & Lillypads" which involves Hula Hoops that keep getting taken away. The One you mention sounds more like a game we do called "Chocolate Ocean" were they have a course they must traverse safely (using only their "islands" or "marshmallows" in the Chocolate Ocean) to get from point a) to point b). There are sometimes "Sharks" swimming around in the ocean though... stealing the islands away if no-one is standing on them at the time!
I have found that whether the clients are our patients, staff, campers, facilitators in training or corporate groups, they do talk non-stop about their "Adventures" when all is said and done. Glad they had a positive experience!

How recently did you see Darkwing Duck and Scrooge? It looks like it was Christmastime!
Darkwing was around Christmas of 2004. He was out near the train station (Main Street) right after the park opened (I think it was even during Extra Magic Hours.)
Scrooge was this past Christmas at Donald's Christmas Tree Lot (not far from the Winnie the Pooh ride.) They were rotating out between Scrooge, Donald & Daisy when we were there.
Good luck with your Ducks-Hunt!

Finally getting around to updating (I think I have done this right?) 1st is some PhotPass pictures from the last trip (WDW PhotoPass). 2nd is some of the art-work I help my wife with that goes out in the yard (I'll need to find pic's of some of the othere one's we've done over the years.) We do them on an overhead, she cuts them out on wood, she does basic paint & then I come in and do all of the detail work.

Unfortunately, a few things keep me up on some nights: We've been working on the "Guest House" (which Nacho still thinks is her house!) and are a bit full of adreniline... and since I've been practicing 2-3 nights a week, I've gotten back into the bad habit of coming home wound up and unable to sleep until the adreniline runs out.
Hope ya liked the band pics btw! And that wasn't a sneer... it was gas:(

No worries Doll!
For everyone's info: The guitar I was playing during the pic's taken was my antique (ancient?) Flying V (guess where I chose my name now?) Sitting on the stand behind me (looks like just out of eye-shot... think ya might see the tips or heads of them) were my Ibanez Iceman & my Ibanez 12-String. The V was just recently refinished (had to strip it down) and it is now near it's original glory... it does need some minor cosmetic touch-ups & a new bridge (mine was filed down by the guy at the music store, but he still recommends a new bridge in the future.) Still, for a guitar I bought 27 years ago (!!!) and was already somewhere between 8-18 years old when I bought it, it ain't in bad shape!

(-Hopefully this'll get seen?-)
And speaking of "pretty guitars";
Took a little (expensive) road trip to Baton Rouge Saturday to purchase (initially) a PA monitor for myself, and decided to look at my very first 6 string acoustic guitar. I had my eye set on 3 different types (all made by Ibanez) but narrowed it down to this baby:
http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z221/flyingicemanvx/MY%20INSTRUMENTS/100_3461.jpg
No 2 are exactly alike, as they are made from African Zebra Wood... hence why they are called the "Exotic Wood" series!
Yes, I've been playing for about 28 years, and amongst all of the electrics & 12 strings I've owned, I've never actually owned a 6 string acoustic, so I'm kinda excited to see how it'll fit into my stage routine.
