Back in Sept 07 Mom and I won dream fastpasses for MGM. We were on TGMR and when we got into the loading zone the CM let us know we won and handed them all out.

What are these postcards yall are talking about getting and mailing and getting lanyards and ears? I haven't heard of this, do you get the postcard from the dream team in the park??? im jealous!!

EDIT: I just read all of the first post and got my answer. Looks like I've missed the mailing date!

EDIT #2: Just found the updated website for 2008, here http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/disneyparks/en_US/index?name=YOMDGiveAwayRules08Page#YOMD2008Partici pateText

Looks like I'll be mailing some postcards in!

I'd just like to state that I have mailed in about 2 dozen postcards and visited WDW 4 times during the YOAMD and not received a single thing. During this whole past trip we saw the dream squad once and it was 2 Cm's standing beside Mrs Potts cupboard in MK chatting.

We never won anything in the parks either, just saw them talking once or twice. I never saw anyone win anything in the parks, just the people walking around with the prizes I could see. Keep mailing in the postcards, I know you will win something:thumbsup:

Just this month we won dream ears in the Dinosaur video pre-show room. Two days later we won dream fast-passes in the Rock N Roller Coaster queue.

Side note - We learned on this trip to relax and not let people get us upset. People were slow as we were trying to get in the Studios. When we finally got in, we headed right for Rock N Roller Coaster. The people waiting to get in the video pre-show wouldn't move up as instructed, so we couldn't get in and had to wait for the next pre-show. As luck would have it, we were first to get the dream fast-passes, so if people weren't so slow & actually followed instructions, we wouldn't have gotten them. I seriously was more relaxed after that lesson. :)

We wona dream hour at the MK on our triptwo weeks ago. It was so much fun!

My youngest daughter and I were headed to the parks for some mommy and me time. She had never ridden Big Thunder Mountain so we headed there first. We get all the way back there to find that it was shut down. We waited a minute or two as we could see them doing test runs, while waiting we sat and colored a picture. When she was done coloring (she just turned 6) we went back over and watched the trains go empty on the ride. Just as we were turning around to go ride something else they opened it up. We were on the first train loaded up and when we got off and were headed out the exit we were given "credentails" for an extra hour at the park along with others. They also asked us if everyone was on the ride and when I explained my mom, twins and oldest daughter would be joining us later in the day, they handed us enough for everyone!

It was a blast. There was a kick-off party with dancing, characters were out and about, there were NO lines for anything. In an hours time we did Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor, Buzz Lightyear, Spaceship Earth, Pooh, Tea Cups and we just made it onto the LAST ride of the night, Dumbo. It was so much fun. The bonus, though, was at the very end when we were headed out of the park and Micky and Minnie were watching from the train station and waving good-bye to us all as we headed down Main Street.

So glad we stuck it out during the closure and ended up in the right place at the right time.

Its not a "real" prize, but I still thought it was cool. More of a magic moment.

My family and I went to Disney World back in August. We stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside. One of the last few nights we were there we had wondered around in the gift shop at the resort and were checking out when the cast member (she was actually in training) asked my mom if she wanted to do some Trivia. My mom said sure. They asked her like 5-10 questions (just so happened to be princess questions!) and when she was done answering them (with my help at one point :D) they pulled out a certificate and put her name, the date, and that she had completed the trivia. It was pretty cool. They then gave me the chance to try my hand at some trivia...unfortunately it was obscure trivia about dear old Walt so I didn't get more than like 2 right...but I still was awarded a certificate for trying :D

Like I said, not really an official "prize" as much as a nice magic moment :mickey:

My four-year-old daughter won a private visit with Cinderella at the Magic Kingdom in September.

It was funny. She was waiting in line to see Snow White when the Dream Squader asked her if she wanted to see Cinderella. My daughter said no that she wanted to see Snow White. She thought that she would have to leave her line she spent so much time in waiting to see Snow White. She was very focused and waiting patiently on when it was going to be her turn. When my wife explained that she could visit Cinderella later she was nonchalant about it as if it was just going to be the next thing we did. She didn't really understand the whole winning a dream thing but she loved her time with Cinderella. She even got a certificate commemorating the event.

We are the last people to feel entitled at Disney World. But after spending some twenty days in the parks during the Year of a Million Dreams and seeing those blue ears and fastpass lanyards seemingly everywhere, we began to wonder if there was a reason we never got anything. It didn’t bother us because we had so many dream moments during those trips. We were thrilled when we finally won something that it was for our daughter.

On the down side, when my wife was pulled aside by the Dream Squader she was all prepped with her camera, autograph clipboard and marker…like you’re supposed to be for optimum efficiency. During an exchange of a schedule where she can pick a time to see Cinderella she dropped her camera. So we didn’t get photos of our Dream, or Snow White or anything else that trip. I try not to think about that part though.

We were at Disney Studios in Nov of 2006 during the YOMD. We won a "Fast Pass" for every ride in the park. We took advantage of a few, but weren't interested in some of the rides (Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster). On our way out, we checked with a cast member and then Shared the Magic with another group of four...passing on the remaining Fast Pass tickets to another group. Honestly...passing on the magic was more fun that getting the original fast pass award!

While at DL in Oct 07 on a VERY Last minute trip to the GC (supposed to go to Hawaii, but we had fires here in San Diego and thought it was best not to go) I wanted to eat at Napa Rose, but they had no rezzies left. As were finishing up with the check in a CM came out with a certificate that gave us the ability to go to any of the hotel restaurants without a reservation and be the next party seated.

I don't know if I was more excited to be able to go to Napa Rose or with the fact that I got a Dream! :cloud9:

I caught a Dream Team member giving an Honorary Princess award to a girl for pulling the sword from the stone. I then stalked her trying to let my Stinkerbell pull the sword from the stone also. No luck.

We gave up and got in line for Small World. Stinkerbell had just exchanged her "customizable crown" with a badly designed veil for a Princess sun visor and small tiara and satin "Princess" sash. Her smile had returned and disappointment was vanquished.

The Dream Team member I had been stalking caught sight of Stinkerbell and asked her if she was having a good day, etc. She then asked Stinkerbell to be the Honorary Cruise Guide for the Small World ride. We were escorted to the control booth, where Stinkerbell waved to the riders below. An announcement was made about the "award" and we were escorted to the front seats of the front boat, skipping the line completely.

This is no "Cinderella's Suite", but it made my daughter's day and put a smile on all our faces.

Thank you, CM Dream Team Nancy.

btw, you can recognize Dream Teams by the black messenger bag with "Year of a Million Dreams" on it.

Welcome to Intercot!

Great story. Happy your DD had a good time. Dream Team stalkers are one of Disney's biggest fears. :thedolls:

They could get in trouble for "playing favorites". That's why they separate Magical Moments from Dream giveaways. Legal stuff. Great magical moments though! Often much better than the small Dream giveaways.
