Day FIVE, Part 2- Wednesday, June 27th

After Blast we had to decide what to do next. The usual confusion over who was going where and which adults wanted to do what ensued. Tonight it seemed to take forever! FINALLY- several adults decided to eat at San Angel. The group of 13 & 14 year olds, along with myself and one other adult chose to head back to Future World for Test Track & dinner. The older boys went straight to MGM for the evening with a couple other adults.

We all walked toward the UK, as some of the group wanted to see the British Invasion. Some of us went on. I wanted a Beaver Tail from Canada and took one scout with me. On the walk from the UK to Canada he was asking all sorts of questions about my pins. The boys were getting more and more curious about pin trading, but none had tried it yet. I gave him one of my "cheap pins" and told him to try trading. He saw a CM at a small stand in Canada and asked to see her pins- he found one to trade right away. But by the time we made it to the Beaver Tail stand- he was ready to trade again!! We each got a Beaver Tail - yummy as always. He finished his in about 10 paces, mine lasted for quite some time! By the time we got to the shops by Future World he decided he needed to buy 2 pins to trade! We walked into the Land and met the rest of our group. They loved the food court there- and FOOD ROCKS. We ate dinner (I finished my Beaver Tail) and headed into the show. They had seen it once already this week and loved it. They filled the whole front row and sang and cheered with all the songs. But they sang the "Junk Food" song with REAL FEELING http://www.intercot.com/boards/sarcblink.gif Our twirly sign guy made "Food Rocks" and "Bravo" messages to spin during the show. It's such a corny little show (but I enjoy it) and they got such a kick out of it. You can just never guess what will interest these guys- that's what makes hanging around with teenage boys so much fun http://www.intercot.com/boards/supergrin.gif My 14 year old now wants the music off of Napster.

After Food Rocks we scoped out the gift shop and many of them bought Food Rocks pins! My new pin trader actually traded one of his new pins with the CM for the same Food Rocks pin the other guys were buying! He was really getting into this.

The San Angel group were to meet us after dinner and we would all go to MGM for the 10:30 showing of Fantasmic. They didn’t have a PS, but once again our "networker" chaperone got them a riverside table within minutes. I have ALWAYS wanted a table right by the river, and never have been successful. Well, at least my husband got to experience it! They had a great meal and some great Margaritas http://www.intercot.com/boards/wink.gif

We all walked toward the International Gateway (checking out nearly every pin-wearing CM along the way). We stopped and shopped at some places. Saw most of the later ToN parade- which the boys hadn't seen yet. We had seen some of the puppets during a program, but they enjoyed seeing the parade much more.

We boarded a boat to MGM- still checking out pins. He traded with the boat driver! Our guy with the twirly sign was back to "I need a date" and was getting some interesting looks http://www.intercot.com/boards/wink.gif

We made it over to MGM about 9:10 and had time to get in a Rock & Roller Coaster ride (not me http://www.intercot.com/boards/pukey.gif ). I waited patiently near the entrance to Fantasmic (wearing my Fantasmic Mickey ears!) with several other adults and 2 of the scouts and had an ice cream. Gradually everyone appeared and we made our way into the stadium. We had great seats in the center about mid-way up. I love this show and was hoping others would too. I wasn't disappointed- everyone liked it and we were all smiles leaving the theater.

Tonight's wait for the buses wasn't too bad and we got "home" to Fort Wilderness fairly quickly- although it was about midnight http://www.intercot.com/boards/sleepy.gif

Tomorrow is a water park day- a little rest and relaxation within our week. No programs, no rushing from place to place- just all water, all day!

Except for the ladies- I arranged a special "Ladies Only" breakfast for us at Kona Café. No scouts, no men, no testosterone...

Stay tuned...

Linda, I LOVE your trip reports! I am so into reading them. I am also absolutely amazed at how well you arranged this whole trip for so many people. I am overworking my brain trying to organize a seven day trip for only my boyfriend and I.
Your comments on the twirly sign guy makes me smile. I was wondering where he bought that thing. It sounds like a lot of fun.
Thanks for all of the detail you are putting into the reports. We are only 15 days out, and every day seems like a week at this point. Thank you so much. http://www.intercot.com/boards/rollsmile.gif
