I just found this tip. It reads : Checkout the lampposts on NewYork street at the MGM-Studios. Find the one with the umbrella grab the handle, and find yourself in the midst of a shower! Is that the coolest or what?! Has anyone ever done this? I can't wait till we go in 19 days to try it for myself! graemlins/clappy.gif

That sounds really neat. I can't wait to find it when I am there in November.

If you are walking down the street from the Muppet's 3-D show towards the theater where Hunchback of Notre Dame is performed the lamp post is just about acorss from that sight. Any CM should be able to point it out to you. Isn't that just one of best "feel good" scenes of any movie. I love it too

My friends from college and I did this years back. I love those pics. I still giggle when I pass it now and see people having fun with it. Definitely check it out!! graemlins/clappy.gif

That sounds so awesome. I can't believe there is another cool thing I've never even heard of before.

The longer I'm on Intercot, the more I know..... graemlins/mickey.gif

Sounds like a motto doesn't it? graemlins/muscles.gif

I think the umbrella is still there, but the water effect is frequently not working. It's a neat little-known touch that makes MGM so great, though!

Figment!

The umbrella is still there, but the rain does not come down. I was told this was due to the lower levels of water in florida.

The water hasn't been working the last three times I went (a year and a half now). But people still pose for pictures with the umbrella in hand.

Many of the water things are inop due to Avolutary water restriction from WDW. The Tikis at the ent to JC dont squirt either. And many of the fountains are still turned off around the park.

It had been turned off, but I tried it sometime this past summer and it was working again.

For a company that waters the roads while it is raining, that doesn't seem to be a likely excuse.

There's a small, black pad you step on which starts the water effect.

But, as some of you have said, it is currently shut off. Who knows when it'll be back on. It used to be so mush fun!

(My opinion, it's a $$$ saving measure for the company.)
