Has anyone else seen the new trashcans in Tommorowland?

I saw them a few months ago and they can talk and interact with ppl. I went again last weekend, and they can move too! I saw one go into Mickey's Startraders adn mingle around there.

This is cool.

Actually the trash cans you are referring to are pretty sophisticated, remote controlled robots.

Next time you see one look around for a guy in a loud shirt, with his hand stuffed in a waist pack, talking into his hand.

They really aren't so new. We saw one in 1998 and we were really caught off guard. It was a very funny thing. And we complain that Disney isn't trying?

There have been many trip reports and posts on these lil' buggers. I have yet to see one, but I'm still looking!

they aren't. The trashcan and it's operator are 3rd party. Disney outsources them.

No need to check into it, they are. When I worked in Tomorrowland Attractions Attr, the guy would break in the Alien breakroom (by the old OPS base) and we asked him how he got such a cool job. Then he explained that he didn't actually work for Disney, but that he was 3rd party. That also explained how he could park at MO5/7 behind Buzz and how he drove such a nice car.

I have also seen the same CM work the trashcan at Conservation Station at the AK. There is one CM who usually has on Blue Jean shorts and a blue collared shirt, the other one who operates the trash can at the MK does not do as good as a job.

I saw one right outside of AK back in December. Very clever!

I've seen the robotic trashcan many times in Tomorrowland, and it's great. I remember my kids seeing it when they were smaller and loving it. They still look for it every time we go.

I actually got my picture taken with the trashcan at AK last week, he insisted. He also tried to get me to buy him a Mickey bar which leads me to believe he is friends with Michael! http://www.intercot.com/boards/devil.gif
