Beginning February 17th, 2022 face coverings will be optional for fully vaccinated guests in both outdoor and indoor locations. We expect guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, including indoor attractions and theaters. Face coverings will still be required on all enclosed Disney transportation, including Disney buses, monorails, and Disney Skyliner.

As a Canadian who will be living under a mask mandate for a while yet, I have two questions. Firstly, does this really just mean that no one wears a mask, vaccinated or not, since it is the honour system? Secondly, do I need a button that says “I’m vaccinated and still wearing a mask”?

Why?

Yes, it means that almost no one will be wearing a mask regardless of vaccination status. On your second question, no you do not need a button, a card, or a flag to wave or anything else and to be honest with you, 95% of us do not have any interest in whether someone is vaccinated or not. It really is irrelevant now since omicron just punched right through vaccinations.

What really irritates me about all of this at this point is the fact that they still do not give any credibility to the fact that those of us who actually had Covid almost two years ago have just as good and in most cases better immunity than those who are vaccinated. This was exposed by the omicron variant which was widely spread by those who were vaccinated. The ship has sailed, the media has beaten Covid to death, it is time to get on with life and find something else to go on and on and on about on CNN. Maybe Russia will give them something to talk about nonstop for a few months.

Nah, I think the whole point is that if you want to - you absolutely can and should. Your choice. I don't think 99.9 percent of folks will care.

But as far as the honor system goes, I think most will not wear them honestly, and with case counts and spread coming way down - this is endemic. I believe there will be folks now that will mask up during cold/flu season etc., but most will go back to the way things were.

Bottom line - you do you and enjoy your vacation taking whatever precautions you think necessary.

Thanks All! We've been wearing masks up here for 2 years straight, and we're not sure how we'll feel about not having them on inside when we head down to Disney.

What brought about the question (and this is a cute story), I bought a new hat for Disney, since my daughter told me I couldn't wear my current one (a big wide-brimmed thing that I love) "cause we're already going to the crazy people still wearing a mask".

The only other time we've travelled to a non-mask-mandated area we got quite a few VERY FUNNY looks for still wearing one, but you're all correct, at Disney I doubt anyone will really care.

Who cares what they think? You do what is right for you and your family. They don't know your circumstances or why you choose to wear masks. It isn't really any of their business.

I'm sorry but I have to chime in here and ask that you stop posting false information. It is absolutely not true that you have as good or better immunity than vaccinated and boosted individuals because you had Covid 2 years ago.

Actually yes, yes I do. There is research proving this. Feel free to google and read. Not only did we have Covid 19 in the very beginning almost 2 years ago but we were exposed to the Delta variant 4th of July this past summer and only had mild allergy like symptoms. We were tested for anti-bodies a few weeks later and had high levels. Then along came Omicron and everyone around us that had been vaccinated but had not had Covid yet, got sick. We never even had a symptom from Omicron. We have taken advantage of all the cheap hotel rates over the past 2 years and have traveled all over the country and gone to restaurants two and three times a week almost consistently. Needless to say, we have been exposed to Covid probably hundreds of times.

So chime in all you want but when I post something, it is fact not speculation. You really need to do some reading on who the majority of the people who caught the Omicron variant were and were spreading it around. If you are vaccinated but have not actually had Covid yet, be prepared because in all likelihood you are going to catch it at some point.
