i am frustrated at the space restaurant reservation system. i was told by several

cast members that the time to reserve would be

when they opened for business on September 20,at 6 am (eastern)

for online and 7 (eastern) for phone . My daughter and I tried both ways but it was

unsuccessful.

Some people said the reservations opened at midnight. what is the truth?

Mel,

I posted this early this morning. SUPER frustrated right now! I have read that people got in at 5:45am and got 2 reservations. I know complaining about it doesn't get me into the reservation but it's still so upsetting because I tried to follow what I was told but, apparently, different people get told different thngs

So, I was informed that starting today (Sept 20) we can start making reservations for Space 220 for Sept 27 and beyond. No problem as we want one later in October.

I was told you can either make the reservation on your app starting at 6am or wait until 7am to call the WDW dining number.

Starting right at 6am, I open my app to book Space 220. Shows "open" for all dates, which I was expecting since that we the FIRST time you could even book it. I click on the date I want and "dinner". Nope, nothing. Tried lunch, nothing. Clicked on ALL the times, nothing. So I go back to make sure it doesn't show "open" anymore before I give up. EVERY date still shows "open"!

So, 7am rolls around and I call the dining number RIGHT at 7am. Wait time says 2 hours already!

No joke, Ive been clicking for almost 2 1/2 hours with no luck but still seeing "open" and have been on hold for 1 1/2 hours (so far....I'm not hanging up now!).

I even signed up for a site that you put in what you want and they will look for you (not sure I can say the name). This morning I received an email from them saying they found one for my date and time that I requested. Right when I received he email, I cliked on it and it said "the time you selected is no longer available". What in the actual the heck??

I think I had better luck getting a reservation for Cinderella's Royal Table a few years ago!

into be a 3plus hours! I called theme parks

Sorry you had so much trouble. I have to say though that it blows my mind that you guys will sit on hold for hours trying to get a dining reservation. I won't spend more than 10 minutes on dining reservations but then we don't really care where we eat when we are there. We have been known to go back to the resort, jump in the car and drive over to the Atlantic or Gulf side of Florida and eat at a nice seafood restaurant rather than deal with all the dining reservation stuff.

I mean, I wasn't literally "sitting" there on hold. I put in my earbuds and cleaned the house :)

The whole thing was just frustrating because I did what I was told (app opens at 6am) but apparently they opened the reservations on the app a LOT earlier than 6am. I would have had no issues waking up at 5 or 5:15 to get a reservations, had I only known what others had known :(

Oh well, I guess looking via YouTube or whatever will just have to do!

Happened to me also. I logged on at 0545 eastern time to be ready as soon as the reservations opened and they were already open and all booked up.
Between that and our RotR fiasco (when they let people into the park early without telling everyone), Disney has a D- in my gradebook.
I switched our plans so that we will be at Epcot on our first full day. I'm hoping we can get a walk up reservation (on the last day they do walk ups), but I won't be too heartbroken if we don't. The menu doesn't look that appealing to me. I'm actually hoping I can just get a drink or something while the rest of my party eats, because there isn't anything on there I want.

Do you know, are they doing walk up reservations after the 1st week? Or will it ONLY be online (or calling 60 days prior)?
