Light Saber Question

Has anyone shipped their light saber home instead of carrying it on the plane? Can you ship it from the light saber workshop?

Not quite the answer that you asked, but we built three lightsabers at DL in 2019, and we carried them home on the plane to Virginia. They're built so that they fit in the overhead bins in aircraft, and they give you padded zipper cases to protect them.

I do not remember any way to ship them from Savi's Workshop. Once you build the sabers, they show you the way out and give you the cases as you leave. There's no gift shop or room you pass through as you exit. You might be able to do it from your resort's gift shop, but I would be surprised if they had the boxes for it. Your best bet if you don't want to wrangle with the lightsabers on the plane, I think, would be to leave Disney property and find a UPS store.
